Konate being left out of France squad as DD says it was between him and Saliba and Saliba's experience in a back 3 gave him the nod. Varane hasn't had the greatest of seasons and his club play a back 4 as well so how is he in the squad. Form has to come over reputation surely.

Their great loss our great gain, he gets more chances to rest and also dodges the chance of injury while playing for France. He's better sitting at home than sitting on a cold bench.

You have to give Ibou great credit, he has been superb lately another "Rock" at the back.

He joined when under everyone else's Radar a complete nice surprise, the same will happen with Salah's replacement he will be someone under the Radar.

I’ve seen Salina play a few times this season and I have to say, what was Arteta thinking by letting this kid go while he spent millions on dross like Gabriel, White and kept a hold of the dreadful Rob Holding? The kid is better than these blokes, IMO. That said, he is NO Konate.

As for Deschamps, he is a bit like Scolari, IMO. If you have his trust and have performed and won things with him in the past then, it’s tough for him to move away from the guy he has trusted ir has faith in.
