A quick "what if" for you.

Assume the money works out the same all round, we end up losing Salah (because he won't sign, no way would I sell otherwise) and the Ox and end up with Bowen and Carvalho in return?

Would you be happy?

Is that a net upgrade or downgrade?

Before everyone throws out Salah's stats this season, which are again remarkable (36 goal involvements in the the EPL to Bowen's 22), remember that Salah was playing for a team that has done so well and is managed by Klopp whereas Bowen's figures are for a team that finished 7th and is managed by Moyes!

Personally, I would be pretty OK with that little merry-go-round. Bowen has proven himself in the EPL, is of a similar age to our front 3 when they came in and is only 25.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy if Salah left and was replaced with Bowen.
I think Carvalho/ Ox doenst matter too much as I don't expect either would be nailed starters and perhaps Carvalho is abit better.

Bowen is not better than Salah, but in our team I honestly wouldn't mind who we bought in as I'd have complete faith that they would be joining a world class team surrounded by world class players and as a unit we'd still get a bit collective contribution.

Salah staying is ideal obviously but I don't fear losing him or many other players.

Diaz will explode next season, Mane continues doing Mane things. I’d take Bowen and lower the average age of our forwards all day long.

I’d be happy with Bowen. But if we lost Salah I’d want more than just just him.
City getting Haaland and us replacing Salah with Bowen doesn’t really work for Liverpool, we’d need way more.

Tbh Zeddicus Bowen is going to coast a lot and I'm not sure Klopp will want to use most of he's transfer chunk on Bowen.

If Salah goes expect another gem will be found who will bring new energy freshness and pace like Diaz coz Klopp likes pace and energy.

Should point out that my reason for including the Ox in the calculation is because some media outlets (not very reliable ones, but still! ) are suggesting that the Ox could be an option for West Ham so Ox + cash for Bowen may be an option.

{Ed025's Note - West Ham want £50m for Bowen zed. If you throw in the ox it’s £53m mate 🤣..

You must be still on the happy juice Billy.

23 May 2022 20:53:53
I thought West Ham would want more than £50 million for Bowen.

Our problem in replacing Salah is that he goes through patches every season where he is truly unplayable. His passing, crossing and ability to create sensational chances for himself and others is very difficult to replace. The two goals he assisted for Mane against City this season are testament to his creative abilities. I think replacing his 13 assists and the amount of defenders he draws to himself will be much harder than replacing his goals.

If they asked £50m for Bowen we should bite their hands off as he’s a very good player.

23 May 2022 23:06:21
Bowen will be overpriced so he’s a no go for esp to replace a PL legend like Salah. If Sakai leaves, I’m good. We got Klopp. Quite frankly, that’s all we need.

23 May 2022 22:44:29
I think Bowen would be super, smashing, great.

23 May 2022 23:30:24
Nice one Rigsby 😂.

23 May 2022 23:49:08
