Been coming to this site since 2008 and what a long way our team has come. Devastating way to lose out on the league but just to put into context Pep vs Klopp.

Pep 9 Honours
4 Premier Leagues 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22
4 League Cups 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021
1 FA Cup 2018-19

Klopp 6 Honours
1 Premier League 2019-20
1 Champions League 2018-19
1 FA Cup 2021-22
1 League Cup 2021-22
1 FIFA Club World Cup 2019
1 UEFA Super Cup 2019

Attention needs to be supporting the lads for the final in Paris. We win this and Klopp can still be more successful than Pep over their tenures in England. Adrian knocked us out in 2020 and we had Williams and Phillips defending the same front line we face next week. Klopp is the best manager in the world and to win big you have to lose big. 4-0 comeback against Barca, hammering United, Ox against City, Fabinho against City, losing the Europa final because of Moreno, Kompany's last minute win against Leicester, Karius, and yesterday Villa collapsing. To win the league, we have to beat City and this team is more than capable of it. Win next week in Paris, and we still can come out of the Pep-Klopp era on top of the pile.

One other metric;

Klopp took over in 2015/ 16, counting from that season we have spent £671m and recovered £449m in transfer fees.

Manchester City have spent £1.22bn and recovered £451m in transfer fees. They’ve literally spent double what we have to not win a big European trophy. Slow handclap for Pep.

I mean, really, well done.

(Figures on the transfermarkt website)

{Ed025's Note - he has not done too bad I think vvvv. He has won 6 premiership titles to klopps one mate. And that’s your holy grail..

As sad as I was on Saturday and how it irks me that they have a blank cheque book, I cannot fail to be impressed at the relentless way City play.

We cannot allow ourselves to be bitter. They are inspiring us to play our best football. We were within 15 minutes of completing a domestic treble. I still cannot quite believe it.

It is small margins and the City players know that they have another tough season ahead.

Let’s finish our season in style and with a touch of humility.

23 May 2022 20:35:12
Pep hasn’t won 6 Premier League titles 🤦🏼‍♂️.

23 May 2022 20:34:10
Agree ed25 mate pep has already cemented he's legacy in English football but it's 4 not 6 unless you're adding your relegation saving season as 2 trophies? 😜🤣🤣.

{Ed025's Note - yeah KF. I was counting the jammy one you won and leicesters I think mate 🤣..

23 May 2022 20:50:46
To be honest I don't count the Super Cup or World Club Championship. Same as the Charity Shield for me.

Saying that Klopp has done great against City's million. The money they have spent can't be discounted at all.

23 May 2022 20:52:01
@Thunderbird2: Evertonians have got their voices back after the great achievement of last week. What do you expect from the supporter of a team that hasn't won anything in nearly 4 decades: they are bound to make mistakes counting trophies (whether it is our beloved ED25 or not ;) )

{Ed025's Note - we are in transition das. And you have to admit it does feel like 6 mate..

23 May 2022 20:52:25
I was about to say the same thing, Thunderbird. Gladiola has won four, I think. And Norbert has at least
won the Holy Grail for us.

{Ed025's Note - but even Leicester won it once rigsby. You have to win it more than that to be taken seriously mate..

23 May 2022 23:00:24
Getting lectures on winning trophies by Ed025! you cheeky scamp!

I am gutted we only have 1 league title under Klopp but it has not been for the want of trying, in the meantime he could win his 2nd european cup in his 3rd final in 5 years after completing the set of domestic trophies, not a bad consolation i am sure you will agree.

Always glad to see you on these pages mate and i hope you are keeping well.

23 May 2022 23:04:11
We are already being taken very seriously esp by the rival fans who all became City fans last night and sure enuff, they will all become Real Madrid this Saturday. This is what we do to rival fans and I’m loving it.

As for Klopp and Pep, Klopp has completed the set by winning the freaking lot. Pep hasn’t even after outspending him massively. I will like to know how much he would have spent when he eventually wins the CL cos clearly spending 1.2bn is not enuff.

To be honest, it was hilarious watching everton fans celebrating everton staying up…. it’s very rare they get to celebrate anything, so I suppose celebrating escaping relegation is the only thing for them to look forward to, they certainly aren’t going to be celebrating winning any titles or cups for a very long time, if ever! 😂.

23 May 2022 21:10:43
ed025 how are we meant to win it when they have the backing of a country? . its becoming impossible to achieve.

{Ed025's Note - money is not everything nath, its about good recruitment and coaching mate....just look at everton..

23 May 2022 21:30:34
Even Leicester, Ed? EVEN! Haha.
Everyone has to take us seriously when we turn up in every cup final and are one of only two teams in the title race, mate.

{Ed025's Note - you are a damn good cup team rigsby, but as i have said mate the premiership title is the holy grail..

23 May 2022 21:35:09
Jaysus Ed nvr thought I’d see the day when u agree football only started back in 1992 with these statements 🥴.

{Ed025's Note - its no use going over ancient history jay. time to move on mate..

23 May 2022 22:00:57
We’ve been champions of England 19 times Ed, football didn’t start in 1992. I think even Everton have been champions more times than the chequebook champions.

A billion quid ought to buy a bit more than being flat track bullies. No European Cup wins grates on him immensely.

{Ed025's Note - its a pity really VVVV that you cant go down to cash converters and trade in all those micky mouse cups for a prem title.. :)

23 May 2022 22:20:12
I’m just glad Ed025 is back out of hiding, surprisingly after Everton avoided relegation, he vanished for about 6 weeks. Welcome back.

{Ed025's Note - i have been keeping my powder dry thunderbird.. :)

24 May 2022 01:19:31
Don't come off with that old united fan lark ed25 football success does not solely rest on winning the English league even though the media would have you believe that. You live in a country where the league is hyped up like it is its own super league there is more to football than just it. Not putting down anyone's achievements for winning it just saying its not the only metric for success.

{Ed025's Note - but it is really joe, cups are fine mate but you know as well as me that the prem title is the golden nugget...come on just admit it.. :)

24 May 2022 06:57:05
If I had not won a title in 41 years like City, I wouldn’t want to talk about history either. We have 19 titles. City have less titles than Everton. Call me back when City get 19 titles to their name and have played 10 CL finals and potentially won 7 of them. Only then, can a City fan chat to me. Till then, they are like PSG. Won 8 of the last 20 titles in France and NOBODY cares.

{Ed025's Note - you have to be a bit more magnanimous than that oli, just give city the credit they deserve mate...bitterness is not very becoming..

24 May 2022 08:32:26
In fairness to Guardiola, yes he has spent a fortune but he has his team playing some cracking football. You got to put your hand up and say well done

I do think the league for us is the big one, to go so long without it was awful and it was great to win it but to be remembered as a truly great side I think we need to win the league again.

I do think City will eventually win the Champions League, they'll just keep spending until they doesn't they? I hope they don't and continue to be beaten, but equally I do think we can win the league again, just need to concentrate on our own results and kill games off and stop drawing those games we've mentioned before.

24 May 2022 08:34:06
Not sure why some on here are downplaying Man City achievements. Ed025 is right, as winning the league is the No 1 priority.
I accept City have spent a billion etc, but so have Man Utd and they are garbage, so Pep deserves more credit than he gets on here sometimes.
I suspect that Man City would have preferred to win the Champions league and Liverpools preference would be the premier league as ed025 alluded to in his post.

24 May 2022 09:36:32
Man City deserve no credit whatsoever. 100% backed by the refs in every game so very easy to achieve what they have. It is a shame they are bringing the game in to disrepute but also I think sky sports would have had fewer viewers than ever the past few days who wants to watch a group of jumped up show pony’s celebrate a trophy they do not deserve and have at the end of the day cheated to win. It would take them 100 years of cheating to achieve what we have in the game through hard work. I am absolutely fine with them winning the league as that is what was set out at the start of the season by the leagues organisers and officials. But we nearly gave them red faces so that will do for me. There title is meaningless so it is hilarious also no big ears as it must be harder to pay everyone off in that tournament it seems.

24 May 2022 12:58:40
ED25, bitter about what? City won the title and hats off to them; They did their thing and got their rewards. What more do people want? A kidney? I'm not going to fawn all over them like many in the media do so if you were expecting that from be as being magnanimous then, I can't help you there. Sorry but it is what it is. Besides, pretty sure the City fanbase don't care what I think of them.

{Ed025's Note - i dont imagine they do oli, but i always think you have to be the bigger man and congratulate the winners and commiserate with the loser myself mate..
