If he doesn’t sign, he will be replaced and might find that the packages offered from elsewhere next year not as good as he was expecting if he is no longer pulling up trees for us as a squad player.

If he goes this year he won’t get as much signing fee.

It’s a strange one - he’s obviously looking for a move, but it seems motivated by money and nobody’s really falling over themselves to offer him want he thinks he deserves.

And yet he has a contract on the table from one of the top clubs on the planet, to be their highest paid player, in a team that plays to his strengths and where he is, generally, appreciated by the fans. Top manager, trophies on tap etc etc.

I just really hope this doesn’t end badly, there is just no need for it.
I understand it’s money and business, I just hope Mo does too. It’s a cut-throat world out there and Mo strikes as more than a little naive.

KopF I think Klopp indicated today that negotiations are ongoing w all players that are getting short. I'd imagine that includes Sadio. Maybe he's trying to keep the owners on their toes maybe he's decided he's off. We'll find out soon enough hopefully.

To be fair salah and mane have both been loyal servants and given us their best. Mane isn't what he was on the wing. If he chooses to go after champions league then fair enough, sell him. If salah walks away on a free after next season, not ideal but atleast we'll of had another season with him. still hopeful he signs though but if not I for 1 don't begrudge him the chance of a big final payday. Legend.

Baffled by the negative reactions to this. Sounds like many just wanted to trade him in for a shiny New (nez) toy! Maybe in another 12 months time Gordon or Elliott will replace him? Or maybe he'll stay for another 3 years beyond then? Who knows. Let's just enjoy him whilst he's ours!

{Ed0666's Note - I think this is a happy solution all round. This way we get Salah for another year and dont have to break the bank to do so. If his blip in form is permanent then we aren’t saddled with an inferior player and if it’s not a blip then it’s the same as it was previously well still have to break the bank to sign him.

Stick salah centrally and I think he'll score more goals, then again I think any of our forwards would. For Madrid. I'd put Salah up top, Diaz on salads side, and mane to be mane.

3 goals and 4 assists in his last 10 appearances. 7 goal involvements in 10 from a winger? Not bad at all considering those games included Man City semi final, Man United derby, Everton derby, an in form Tottenham, a revived Newcastle, defensively solid Wolves, both legs of a CL semi final against a very solid Villareal, and Chelsea in an FA Cup final in which he only played 30 minutes due to injury.

What do you expect from the bloke at the back end of a gruelling season when we've had massive game after massive game? Just because his form in the 1st half of the season was prime Ronaldo/ Messi level, doesn't mean his current form is "pure sh##te". Most wingers would dream of that kind of return across those 10 particular fixtures. You know across his last 10 games Diaz has 3 goals and 3 assists. So 1 less assist than Mo and yet most people on here will say he's been scintillating.

I'm sorry, I'm not buying it. I was fuming with Salah and his agent earlier in the season and was happy to bomb him out for that reason alone. But Salah has finally said the right thing and that should be applauded in the interest of fairness. He is clearly a victim of his own success.

Why do fans worry about money? I’d say about 95% of us - including me - have no idea about how the finances work.

We see numbers on social media / in the press which range, at best, from semi-informed guesses to the product of uninformed imagination based on computer games and then start making value judgements on the clubs management of (transfer) funds and revenue management in general.

As has been said, if the club is happy to accept what Salah wants to do for the next twelve months onwards then fair enough. If it means we get one more season (at least) of a happy Mo then cool. As fans that’s a good outcome.

Liverpool want to pay Salah X, Salah wants to be paid Y. And they're both engaging in brinksmanship in the belief the other will blink first.

Salah doesn't think the owners will ultimately be willing to take the backlash of letting him go for nothing, and the club don't think he'll have an easy time getting £400k a week at another club so why should we pay it to him? With Haaland at Man City and Mbappe staying at PSG on a million billion a week, or whatever, I think those two options are out. Newcastle might chuck it at him, but will they be up to CL level yet? Man U too could probably afford it after Ronnie's deal runs out. Again, may not be in the CL. And I doubt he'd go to a team outside the CL.

There's always Barcelona and Real, but I give up trying to predict what they do.

Personally, I suspect they will eventually meet somewhere in the middle. Probably quite late in the day.

Mo says he’s staying and the fans are upset.

The guy cannot win.

He is well within his right to play out his contract like any employee. We offered him that deal. He signed it. And he’s honouring it. If what we’re offering isn’t to his liking then he is free to leave and sign elsewhere next summer.

Last few weeks it feels like Fans have seemingly turned on our player of the season ahead of the biggest game of the year.

Let’s all get behind the team please.
