Morning Ed. What is your take on Mane coming out in a press interview, and sayiny 60-70% of Senegalise on social media, want him to leave Liverpool and he will do what the people want.

{Ed001's Note - he just sounds like an idiot. I guess he needs to justify moving somehow.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Time to sell both Mane and Salah and build again with some younger quality players who want to play for us and move on from them both.

There’s an old French saying “Péter plus haut que son cul”, this applies in both cases.

04 Jun 2022 10:59:14
It’s a shame 60-70% of Senegalese people didn’t want him to score in a CL final 🤣.

04 Jun 2022 11:08:59
How bizarre. He is ruining what he has built and achieved. I have to say that the large proportion of footballers are complete idiots, or certainly seem it.

04 Jun 2022 11:24:43
I’m a big fan of Mane and think he has been a great signing for the club but how he is going about this transfer is really questionable, first he makes a cryptic statement on the eve of a champions league final now he is giving these stupid interviews that surfaced yesterday! Where is the respect for fans and the club?

04 Jun 2022 11:58:21
The name Mané translates to Fool. Idiot. Moron
And was the “nickname” of legendary Brazilian Garrincha, who famously was a teen alcoholic who lost his virginity to a Goat 😂.

04 Jun 2022 12:37:56
And those same Senegalese citizens are very very high what are they smoking over there.

04 Jun 2022 13:08:07
It’s just a shame. Let him go, he’ll be fondly remembered but not as much as he could have. I do hope we replace him. Or else jota improves his overall game.

04 Jun 2022 13:09:54
He did NOT justify moving. he was being sarcastic about moving because a poll on Twitter suggests he should.

04 Jun 2022 13:24:57
He is not a fan like us……. he has achieved everything with else and fancies a change. Good luck to him, I would prefer it though if he just come out and said it. Either he has been brilliant for us, and no one can fault him for his on pitch efforts and charity work!

04 Jun 2022 13:29:51
And what do Senegal fans have against LFC! We turned him from a good footballer to a world class footballer 🤔 anyway if he wants to go then good luck to him. We will find the next star very soon 🙏🏼.

It’s pretty much a repeat of Gini saga. Similar narrative regarding perceptions of value / worth to fans, club and player.

Business is business in the end I suppose.

04 Jun 2022 13:49:16
And the transfer window hasn’t even opened yet. Not sure everyone does irony @Reynard 😁.

04 Jun 2022 14:00:14
Both Mane and Salah are repeats of the Gini saga. Sell them now while there’s some value as it will be an unwanted distract if they’re still here next season.

04 Jun 2022 14:40:38
I was only bantering with my comment.

When Mane and Salah move to me they will be legends. I don’t get the Origi leaves LFC and he’s a legend and Mane and Salah are the enemy.

04 Jun 2022 15:12:49
I think the difference is that there’s this feeling that both Salah and Mane believe they’ve outgrown the club and are bigger than the club, that’s never been the case with Origi, he has always accepted being a bit part player with dignity and weighed in when needed and it’s understandable that he might want to do something else and get more minutes on the pitch.

The best thing for the club is to sell both now and replace like for like. Like we did with Keegan, then like we did with Rush.

Which still leaves Mane and Salah as legends (in the same way Keegan and Rush are) as we’ve been able to let them go and do what they feel they want to do, and provide us with funds to go out and get adequate quality replacements.

Going on a free transfer leaves us empty pocketed and with two players who won’t be pushing themselves come the second half of the season.

04 Jun 2022 15:14:51
Villains that should say not enemy.

04 Jun 2022 16:06:39
I’m not sure that he quite meant how it’s being interpreted, lol.
Something of an over-reaction from some fans I think.
As are how the Tammy Abraham comments have been taken.
Football season has been replaced by silly season 😂.

04 Jun 2022 17:01:15
It's all very surprising. Comparatively speaking, Salah has always been the more vocal, or should we say "expressive", of Mane and he. Mane always let his football do the talking for him. No idea how much of all of the above is true. But I will say one thing. He's a grown adult. With a hell of a lot of experience in the football world and everything that comes along with it. When you have something to say it's your responsibility to ensure nobody misinterprets, misunderstands or starts taking you for an idiot.

04 Jun 2022 20:03:56
VVVV. There's also an old Roman saying. "Et tu Brute? "

04 Jun 2022 21:26:08
Replacing either one of Salah and Mane isn't going to be easy.
Replacing both in one summer? Good luck with that!

05 Jun 2022 13:02:15
Mane was joking. My wife spent a year and a half in Senegal and speaks Wolof, she recognized it straight in his demeanour and tone. Bit hard to describe over a chat forum haha

But anyways, Mo has been throwing Liverpool under the bus with his 1:1 interviews for about 18 months now lol but he gets a free pass each time. I wouldn't be too fussed about Mane's press conference. We already know what the situation is.

05 Jun 2022 16:49:54
Spot on, Faith. I thought the comments were weird esp when he did not mention the LFC fans as the 70% of people who wanted him to leave. Weird stuff.
