Agree with WDW,

Salah finds himself in a situation where for some reason, he has nobody looking to take him as the poster boy, marquee signing.
Barcelona might next year, but his wage demands and SO fee would cripple them?
I would also not be surprised to see Salah accept our current offer and do a U- turn.

For whatever reason, he doesn’t seem to be as highly valued by other clubs. Well, I obviously don’t know that for a fact but from the Ed’s insights seemed like he’s not been the top choice for the usual suspects around the world.

If there’s no transfer fee next season I’d imagine all the big hitters will be in for him including City and Chelsea.

I think it has more to do with Liverpool answering every inquiry they ever got about him for Not for Sale at any cost is what puts teams off! Cause he isn't available.

It is quite stunning that a guy with Salahs record and so close to Balon D'Or doesn't have clubs beating the door down. I understand he's free next year but you would think some would try and steal a march and try and get in early, surely he's better than the forwards on most teams in europe. Large wages ok but some could find ways around that to get a proven high scoring injury free front man, bizarre ok.

Could it be his agent is difficult to deal with? just a thought.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see bids come in for him just before the window closes. The longer it goes on the less it’s in the clubs hands. Only power the club has is if they draw a line in the sand and say he’s not for sale and they are 100% committed to losing him on a free.

KK7, no idea, I don't know his agent so couldn't comment ?.

KingKenny7, Mcgoveb, I don't know Salah's agent either, but what I have seen is that he's a pretty smart operator. From my view, he's managed to keep his client, Salah, in the news and, somehow, always on the front foot in regards to the contract with the club. Not once did I ever get the feeling that the club had the upper hand and that Salah would give in, as far as any talks about contracts are concerned.

{Ed0666's Note - Is he pretty smart or just lucky having arguably the best footballer on the planet as his only client? My little sister could do that job effectively and she has no clue about football or managing finances!

ArAY1969: Another way of looking at it is that he has failed in pretty much everything he has been given to do.

1) Salah wanted to be Madrid's next poster boy= Failed
2) Earn up to £400,000 PW at liverpool = Failed

I don't see where he has the upper hand either LFC have already bought in Diaz and Nunez, he has seen with Mane what liverpool's owners will do if a player wants to leave.

He has said he is prepared to stay on for 1 more year but he still will not be getting the wages he wants.

In The meantime the owners are already ( w/ Klopp) preparing for
life without him.

I may be wrong but that does not sound like a successful agent to me, i would argue that he is running out of cards to play as well.

Time will tell i guess but we are entering the last chapter in the book of Salah.

Kingkenny7, I understand your argument. I will even agree with you that Salah's bargaining position has diminished somewhat recently after seeing the club not hesitate, in the slightest, in letting Mane go or bring in Darwin Nunez at a club record price. He knows he may not be "top dog" at the club anymore if either Nunez, Diaz or Jota put on the afterburners this coming season. I love Salah the footballer, and acknowledge all that he has done for us, but it will be tragic if he ends up elsewhere next summer at a pretty similar wage packet as being offered by LFC. And I think that's very possible. I have no idea why, but I'm convinced that nobody out there is going to give him £400K per week. Mane is rumoured to be on £250K per week, so Salah should be able to get slightly higher at maybe £300-325K per week.

I think we’ve played the Mo situation well. He’s altar said in public that he will be at Liverpool next season. Call him on it, he should be motivated to earn his next contact and the individual homies he craves. Maybe it will translate to him actually turning up in crunch time for us. Then let him walk away a hero.

I really thinks there is room for sentimentally and we don’t need to be so worried about having to get money back before he goes on a free. Imagine if he helped us win another 3 trophies next season? I find that far more realistic than thinking we will bring in a replacement for him this summer and be as competitive for trophies. In fact I think we should avoid losing ano and Mane in the same window at all costs. More important than Amon actually signing an extension imo lol.
