Not even close to being a fact. It's just and only your assessment. Based on 30 minutes in the first warm up session of the pre-season, while conveniently disregarding 2-3 years of more than adequate performance as a backup/ starting DM in competitive and meaningful games, in the eyes of most people (including Klopp) . And yeah. I'm one of those "super fans".

ArAy1969 I was being sarcastic mate. Its pre-season and some lads played today off the back of 1 session I think. Fulham away is when I'll start taking notice of performances and results. Until then it's glorified training.

Along as we're all ready for Fulham I'm happy. Normal table placing takes about 6 games in. Still think we need another cdm ( don't know why we didn't take bissouma) but the rest of the lads look decent and I fancy a title fight again.

Most would agree with you on the need to take the precaution of a backup DM, Magico. But you know quite well how our recruitment team and Mr. Klopp work. If all the boxes don't get ticked (talent, skill, transfer price, wages, compatibility etc etc etc), the trigger does not get pulled.

The transfer window closes 1st September 2022. That's 50 days from now. Enough time for changes to be pursued and made, if the club sees it as necessary.

I think it’s definitely time for FSG to put their hands in their pockets and buy 6 or 7 players out this season is going to be a total disaster. I also think we get rid of Klopp and his cronies in the back room staff and replace them with a proper manager. So what we’ve had five years of continuous improvement - it means nothing when you look at a performance like that in a preseason friendly - I mean, come on, they’ve been back from their summer break for a week now so they should be at their peak and be ready to go. A black day for Liverpool football club.

WDW, you need to cut down on the caffeine intake a bit, mate. We all know it's a preseason game of no significance. We all know players are not ready yet. But that doesn't mean it's a blasphemy to discuss a performance is it? What are we all here for otherwise if not to discuss anything and everything on a match day? If you have something better to discuss then I suggest you suggest it. What do you get out of shooting down people for doing what they're supposed to do on here?

@ArAy, it’s about context - there are statements that 17 and 18 year olds that are being assessed for development both in terms of where they currently are, where they need to be and what the training staff need to 1) encourage the youngsters to do and 2) identify what they, the coaching staff need to assist. That would be a worthwhile discussion. What I’ve actually seen is declarative statements about the future (or lack thereof) of players, both at the start f their career and others getting towards the end of their careers based on an insignificant pre-season friendly played half way around the world less than a week after pre-season training started. Put the conversation into a proper context and we can all have a chat. Make stupid, crass statements based on literally less than 45 minutes playing time in a lot of cases and I’m happy to call crap for what it is.

Anyway, I’m off to get a mug of coffee.
