I think the game against Man City has come way way too early for the reds
It's not going to to be pretty folks I think the gap between the two sides will really increase this year

Personally I think the game has come too early for both. Both have had considerable small amount of time off and then throw in the internationals as well plus City have played only 2 pre season games.
They might be undercooked and we might be overcooked as the lads have been combining double sessions as well as a midweek fixture. I have a feeling this game is going to be treated like another pre season game by both teams.
I can get a certain amount of tickets a season and when offered these I declined as I didn’t want to use up one of those opportunities in what could be a future League or CL game.

Who cares its a glorified friendly anyway. Nice to win like the bangkok cup but hardly a disaster. I usually only want to see pen shootouts in charity shields.

We haven't improved enough this summer to win the league for me. Nunez and carvalho are excellent additions. even Ramsey but unless elliot steps up which I'm excited for. And Diaz adds goals. We might fall short again I feel. Still feel there's something missing. Hope not and we smash it.

Never mind the Charity Shield it’s the match against Strassbourg that I’m worried about. Oh, hang on, that’s a pre-season friendly too. The March that matters is Fulham and win, lose or draw so long as the coaching staff learn something from the two weekend friendliest then the games will have served their purpose.
If it eases the worry OP we aren’t playing our full side against City - the best goalie in the world isn’t available for us this weekend.

Whilst it is a friendly as such, it is the first trophy up for grabs of the new season and one we haven't won since 2006 and the only one remaining we haven't won under Klopp. I hope we take it serious and really go for the win, nothing sets up a successful season better than success.

Stuie, no it doesn’t. The CS is nothing more than a glorified friendly game to announce the start of the new top flight season and that’s it, IMO. Winning it or losing it has no bearing on how the season will go.
City won it in 19/ 20 and finished 23 points behind us by the time we were crowned mathematically champions with 7 to play. Leicester won it vs City last season and had a wretched season. Proves nothing. Win or lose, not bothered. Fulham is what matters.

I disagree, it is a trophy. If you walked into that dressing room and asked if the players cared about it, I am pretty certain every single one of them would. It sets up the season beating your biggest title rivals, even psychologically.
