Hopefully Bernardo Silva will move to Barca. He was the second best midfielder in the league last season and a major reason they won the title. If Silva goes to Barcelona we are massive favourites in a 2 horse race.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won’t move this summer sadly.

Shame they still have the best midfielder in the league last year in De Bruyne and gundogan to replace Silva. We are definitely not favourites this year even if Bernardo leaves having not addressed our midfield issues - almost feels like a write off of a year waiting for Bellingham.

Unless Curtis or Carvalho have a massively impressive year or we keep Thiago fit all season I don’t think we will challenge for the league.

30 Jul 2022 00:59:24
You have to beat the best to be the best n all that!

30 Jul 2022 03:03:09
Yeah such a write off that one point difference last year ?. It must be miserable being a Liverpool supporter these days.

30 Jul 2022 05:11:13
Off course you're right TjRed but history books only talk about winners not who came second even if it was by a point.
We done well last year winning 2 small domestic trophies but without one of the big 2 it was a bit of a let down.

{Ed001's Note - the FA Cup is the most prestigious and oldest domestic competition in the world. It predates the league and is not small in any way. Why do people have this ridiculous agenda against it now we have won it? So they can continue to whine on like little children about how we haven't bought 8000 shiny new toys for them? Jesus Liverpool fans are embarrassingly entitled children at times!}

30 Jul 2022 06:13:37
Absolutely spot on ed001 who would complain about having 2 nice new shiny trophies ? in the cabinet . I mean you wouldn't see a united or arsenal fan moaning ??.

{Ed001's Note - or Spurs. City fans don't complain about winning the cups or that they keep failing to get the Champions League. We are so spoilt we are failing to appreciate how good we have it.}

30 Jul 2022 07:02:53
Ed001 agree completly. Its amazing to be a liverpool fan the last few years. i've been a liverpool fan since early 90s and altough allways been great what's happening now is nothing short of a miracle. The thought of never winning the pl before the 'superleage' was devestating. Still buzzing that we did. We are one of the best teams in the world again and it feels incredible. doesn't mean i was gutted last season just appreciate where we are these days ?.

{Ed001's Note - I was gutted too, but that is natural to miss out by a single point and lose in the final to a team that we clearly are better than does hurt. But that doesn't mean we didn't have a good season and shouldn't be happy to have won 2 cups. You can hope for more without having to dismiss what you do have! People are just ingrates these days. If we don't win everything and buy every single player they liked from FIFA or Football Manager they whinge and whine and bitch until they bore the pants off everyone.}

30 Jul 2022 07:13:55
Spoiled is the word for today sadly.

30 Jul 2022 07:45:07
Amen Ed001. Thanks for calling out the bull****

People forget where we were five years ago and how far we’ve come.

The same people were moaning that we never take the cups seriously a season ago. Now we’ve won them, suddenly they’re small trophies. ?.

30 Jul 2022 07:53:20
A write off of a years a tad dramatic no?

30 Jul 2022 08:15:06
Anybody who thought last season wasn’t brilliant isn’t ever going to enjoy watching Liverpool in any season. It’s a privilege to be alive and watching the current squad and manager / coaching staff that we have now. The bickering about the 9th choice midfield spot is an absolutely perfect example of the spoilt attitude that Ed01 is talking about.

30 Jul 2022 08:29:26
If the cups mean very little and our trajectory was going downwards then Klopp wouldn’t have signed that new contract.

Last season could be argued as one of LFCs best ever seasons because never before had football come out of a C.V. where there were no crowds and professional footballers looked like they weren’t arsed about being on a pitch.

Every single fan of every single team regardless of what league they play in or where they finished would have appreciated attending a game (s) last season.

I know I did and so did a lot of my mates at other clubs who didn’t win many games let alone come anywhere near winning some trophies.

{Ed001's Note - well said.}

30 Jul 2022 09:17:00
Such a load of waffle Josh.

30 Jul 2022 10:06:30
Well let’s see if we win anything this year. If we don’t it will be a write off of a year like I have predicted. Unfortunately we cannot wait to upgrade our midfield if we want to win the league and next season Salah, Virgil, Thiago and hendo will all be a year older.

Save this post, will be happy to eat my words but I predict we don’t win the league or champs this year and for the sake of not signing a midfielder is very disappointing.

30 Jul 2022 10:21:52
next season Salah, Virgil, Thiago and hendo will all be a year older.

Will the rest of the players be the same age? Sorry Josh couldn’t resist that one mate.

30 Jul 2022 10:59:05
I would certainly give up half a dozen FA Cup wins for 1 League or CL title. Off course it has history but I don't think anyone can say that the FA Cup hasn't been devalued over the last 10/ 15 years, long before we won it last season.
As for the "8000 shiny new toys" nonsense. I think anyone will struggle to pin any sort of post like that against my name.

30 Jul 2022 14:08:27
Give us a shout in 12 months please folks. Josh said there's no point watching/ supporting the club this season because it's going to be a write off. And Josh would know wouldn't he?

30 Jul 2022 18:02:18
Season is far from a write off. But it’s fair to say City are stronger, as are some of our other competitors. I think we could have done more in the transfer market.
