Hi Ed001,

Would like your thoughts on below.

Considering our midfield options, would you like to see Klopp try a
4-2-3-1 formation, with fab and hendo at the base and Firmino just behind Nunez?

Or should Klopp stick to his4-3-3, if so, who in your opinion should slot into those roles with the current injuries? is there space for Elliot/ Fabio

Looking forward to your response.

{Ed001's Note - he switches between those 2 and 4-4-2 a lot during games. Not sure we need to change formation formally, I am quite happy to see that continue personally.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bobby needs to let his performances do the talking this season and him earn his starting place over us changing formation just to shoe horn him in out of sentimental value.

I don't think he's been up to it since the CL final win against Spurs. I can't see what he offers.
He's like The Emperor's New Clothes, for me.

Fans don't see the game from the same point of view as Klopp does. Fans want to see fancy flicks and tricks, goals and assists. And if they don't see that, then the player is crap.
Klopp sees what a player gives him overall, tactical intelligence, pressing etc. And obviously Firmino is still doing something right for Klopp as he's still being picked.

And dragged straight after half time too flash.

10 Aug 2022 16:31:21
Flash, why do you assume others with differing opinions are so dense and stupid? Whatever viewpoint Klopp sees the game from, I can say quite confidently that he was wrong to start Firmino at the weekend. It’s nothing to do with the latter not scoring goals or doing flashy tricks, it’s about his increasingly poor showings where he is struggling to do basic things, especially with the ball. Whilst Klopp gets most things right, he makes mistakes like everyone else, most notably when it comes to the faith he retains in some of the players who have brought him success, a number of whom should have been moved on two years ago.

10 Aug 2022 16:38:06
All Firmino seems to do these days are fancy flicks and tricks, most of which go straight to the opposition.

10 Aug 2022 15:58:07
Well Klopp didn’t start him a lot last season when he was fit so perhaps Klopp is more like us fans who clearly don’t know what we’re talking about than people believe.

Lowe because some supporters are positive, some are negative, some are in the middle, some are quiet and don’t say a lot, some might say too much and then some think they are above everyone.

10 Aug 2022 17:33:11
There's a reason I back Klopp's judgement over yours Lowe.
The fact that Klopp has the track record of winning trophies and improving players.
If you think that makes other people dense and stupid then that's your lookout I'm afraid.
Opinions are one thing, but when people start correcting a proven winner on his squad and team choice I find it funny.
If folks don't like that, it's tough.

JK23, it’s easy to say all that now in hindsight cos after City where Bobbie played well, we all knew it was a huge possibility that Bobbie was going to start on the back of that perf as Darwin was being eased in. That’s the info we and Klopp prolly had at the time.

Now to start chirping up here making a big deal that he was dragged off at half time as if he was the cause of all our woes, is just scapegoating IMO cos frankly if it was possible, Klopp could have replaced ALL ten outfield players at half time, he would have cos they were that dire. Hindsight means nothing to me cos if we knew pregame what we know now post game, we’d all be geniuses.

I'm not doubting Klopp.
When I talk about The Emperor's New Clothes, I'm talking about you lot.
Klopp might see something in Firmino but fans are seeing things because they think that Klopp sees them.
The Emperor's New Clothes.
I may not understand football well enough to appreciate what Firmino brings to the team but I understand it enough to see him continually give the ball away and rarely score.
I'm always willing to learn though.

10 Aug 2022 20:47:26
Firmino was past his best some time ago. We need to move on from him.

10 Aug 2022 20:48:56
Oli where have I mentioned Bobby being brought off ??‍♂️ You could start an argument in a phone box on your own fair play. But when you do at least know what you’re replying too before making it up.

11 Aug 2022 09:48:38
JK23, that post was for LoweLFC. My bad.

11 Aug 2022 11:23:25
Lads. the first game… take a step back.
Bobby wasn’t great, neither were a lot of the team.
But with 5 substitutes to be used every game. I think Klopp will work this out. playing high intense so we can replace those that are tiring, maybe earlier subs rather than the 70 min mark wich is the norm?
I think this rule plays into our high intensity style of play.
obvs we need to turn up! Unlike Saturday.
love out YNWA 97 ❤️.
