Hi eds,

I was doing some reading on Fabio Aurelio and saw you mention him in your Liverpool XI (Premier League Era) .

Just curious to know who else makes the XI, and if you'd still have Aurelio in your team.

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, the XI would mostly come from the Klopp-era now as they are the best team we have had since the 80s. Aurelio was great but too many injuries and it took him too long to get back to form. Robertson would be way ahead of him. The only real argument for anyone else to get in would Hyypia, Gerrard and Torres (that I can think of right now). Clearly Gerrard would walk into the midfield alongside Henderson. Torres in place of Bobby up front. Hyypia was just lacking pace and was great in a deeplying defence, but I would hope we don't play that way.}

Suarez and Alonso, ed? I do think we had a better midfield in the Rafa era than the Klopp era.

{Ed001's Note - I love Alonso, I can't believe I forgot about him! He would be in the holding role for sure. Without even a doubt. One of the best players of all time. I wouldn't pick Suarez for a team if he was the only player. I don't give a toss how good he was, he spent most of his time disgracing the club and fighting to leave it. He also had plenty of time with bans that makes him a liability. No thank you, the scumbag is never going to get into any team I pick.}

Not many players have left the club and done better but Alonso most certainly was one of them. World class player who had a world class career with the medals to back it up.

Souness, Dalglish, Barnes, Hansen, Rush from 80s era.

Fowler from the 90s era. Otherwise dry times.

Alonso and Gerrard from the 00s era. Carra, Hyypia and Torres just falling short.

If Suarez had not been a disgrace he'd have been the pick from the 10s era. Otherwise, dry times.

Virgil, Alisson, Trent, Robbo, Fabinho, Salah and Mane from the 20s. Hendo, Bobby just fall short.

I loved that lad sissoko as well, would have been a beast in a Klopp team.

Unfortunately didn’t have he longevity to be considered in an all-time 11.

Aurelio was great? I’ve been a season ticket during his whole tenure and never saw any ounce of a great player, besides a competent swinging left foot when throwing in the odd cross or free kick. He couldn’t defend, had no pace and barely attacked. Awful player.

As much as I love God, the day he’s better than Suarez is the day we come back and win the league this season. The Ed’s sentimentality is laughable. El Sulk was useless in his final season for us and Suarez regardless of off field antics always gave 110%.
