What is intriguing is that when our opponents are a man down (for whatever reason) we actually do not play better or seize any particular advantage playing against 10 men. And when the opposite happens, where we are one man down to our opponents, we invariably play far better (as we did against Crystal Palace) than with 11 players. Granted we were behind and there was an urgency to it, but what's there to stop the urgency from being there for the full 90 minutes? Wasn't the draw against Fulham enough of a motivator?

I don't share all the gloom and doom on here at all, just questioning somewhat, the mental approach to this start of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is probably a subconscious aspect to it which is difficult to teach on the training pitch which is a risk-free environment. Going down to 10 men whilst losing probably weakened their risk aversion to enable them to play with more urgency and take more risks.

Thought we played far better in 1st half and had multiple chances to score.

2nd half we changed our system where Diaz Trent etc were more in opposition box.

Think our problems are just continuation of last season which can be solved within.

Most if not all our attacks come from right side which makes it easier for opposition coz our left side is none existent in-terms of attack which can be solved within.

Our defense have failed to keep a clean sheet in 7-8 games in a row again it's a continuation from last season think it can be solved from within

Fab and Robbo aren't up to the speed again it can be solved from within. Think Klopp needs to start being ruthless coz Those tweaks will solve most of our problems if not all.

But then we have always been slow starters in-terms of performance it takes 5-7 game's for us to get going so think at the end everything will be fine.

Will have a better idea where we stand after 10-12 games it's too early to judge but if you are on SM then we have already lost the league ??.

I agree about Robbo; he's been poor.
But Kostas was worse when he came on.

The bench was certainly looking a bit thin last night.
I don’t think that the subs particularly impacted the game either.
Elliott put a real shift in but I don’t like when he’s put out to stay wide right, he can’t get involved as much.

I thought Elliot was outstanding in the first half last night, and definitely one of our best players - the only thing I will say is he looks really one footed!

I don’t see being one footed a particular issue, many players have one peg, he looks potentially quality, give the lad a break.
