People may blame Nunez and his erratic finishing but Mo had an excellent chance and spurned it and was anonymous for the rest of the game. Poor performances all over the field and to be honest looked like the team felt all they had to do was turn up and they didn’t even do that.

I seriously doubt any Liverpool team playing under Klopp believes all they have to do is turn up to get the 3 points.
It was a spirited and determined effort from Luton as well as an off day for our own guys.
It doesn't hurt to give credit that's due to the opposition.

Spot on, Downey. Anyone blaming just Nunez is showing his/ her bias for all to see. So of all the crap individual performances of the forward line as well as the errors made by the coaching staff, it's only Nunez that was at fault? The bias is deafening.
If Nunez had missed all his chances and the others like Salah had bothered to turn up and help him out then, we'd have won the game. I was not even sure Salah was playing cos he anonymous all game BUT hey, let's blame Nunez. Pathetic.

Mo’s had a couple of stinkers recently. The Everton game was one of his poorest.
However, the way we setup and continued to persevere with the narrow formation is a concern.
The obsession with inverting Trent needs to stop.

Agree on the Trent issue, we are unchanged better with him solely at rb.

Fatwallet, been saying it from jump.

Nunez HAS to finish that though, or at least hit the target and force the keeper into a worldie. if it was an isolated miss fair enough but he's missing far too many sitters. And this comes from someone who really wants him to succeed.

Personally I thought it was Jota’s fault. And matip didn’t exactly do much right.

Have to agree with Jude. Nunez is there to score goals, not sky it from 2 yards out. If this was a one off, I'd give him a pass but it wasn't, he is very inconsistent with his finishing. There's no bias in that statement and those of you who won't call Nunez out for missing sitters, then maybe you're showing your own bias? If he puts one of his "good" chances in the back of the net, we're talking about a completely different game and the team starts to look much better. And don't even compare him to Mo - Mo's earned the right to miss a few. How many terrible team performances has Mo turned into wins by scoring? Sometimes you need your forward to help a team that's not performing well by. wait for it. scoring (imagine that) .

I thought Nunez was our best forward yesterday and was most involved.
Truth is though he had 8 decent chances and 1 of those was a sitter from 3 yards. I think he should have done better with his cross bar shot as well where he’s just hit it as hard as he can 1 on 1 with the keeper.
He still had a decent game though and he’s getting himself into position for these chances. Even creating a few himself.

Remind us who scored 2 against Newcastle recently to win a game we didn't deserve to win RedMob?
06 Nov 2023 16:56:47
RedMob, no. IMO, Salah does not have the right to miss a few cos that is a biased opinion to have. Also, he does not have the right to literally ghost thru 98 mins of football putting every foot wrong either.
You can say that Darwin needs to clean up his finishing BUT he was the only one trying to do ANYTHING offensively in the game whereas Mo was nowhere to be found all game long. Had he put a shift in then, maybe he would have had chances to score BUT he ghosted, end of. If you want to give Mo a pass for not even bothering to do the basics then, that's fine. Im not participating in such double standards. In fact, I expect Mo to turn up cos that is the standards he has set.

Flash - that's kinda my point. Brilliant in one game, and then has largely been missing the rest (PL) . He puts in all the hard work, gets into great scoring positions and then flubs it.
If you're happy with Nunez's finishing, then that's fine. I am not but that's not to say I don't support him. I'm simply pointing out that his finishing is inconsistent and he has missed big chances. He has tons of potential and I expect him to be up there with the best in the league at some point but he has to start putting the easy ones away (at a minimum) .
Oli - if Mo doesn't have the right to miss a few, then why do you let Nunez off? Talk about being biased and a double standard.

Every single Liverpool forward I've ever seen has missed sitters. Fowler, Rush, Dalglish etc.
It's because they're human, with all the flaws that entails.
Nunez is still developing, and even then he will miss chances.
If people are expecting him to put away every single easy chance that comes his way then they don't have a clue about human nature.
I can understand the frustration, but life is too short to get bent out of shape about it.
