I would like to point out that Macca was not central to the argies winning a World Cup. That would be bribery of referees and a lab grown footballer in Messi. People need to get a grip that’s for sure. BTW, I'm a scout and have been for 20 years and it’s quite obvious Macca in nowhere near the level of Elliot and Jones.

I am obviously not a scout but I know a good footballer when I see one. I first seen Thierry Henry play for Juve and thought he was going to be a superstar rest is history also watched Salah play for a Basel and wished one day he would play for Liverpool rest is history. I know a baller when I see one that’s for sure and Macca just ain’t that. I hope he does well and have nothing against him just not special in any way.

I remember watching Henry for Juventus and thinking he was tripe, all speed and no end product. Shows what I know! Good job I’m not a scout, I’d have no badges.

I’ve said before I wasn’t particularly excited when we signed Mac. I thought he did ok at Brighton and in the World Cup but didn’t really stand out in either team. He was functional without being brilliant.
Since he’s signed for us I think he’s done ok in the role he’s being asked to play. I disagree that’s he’s being played out of position I think he’s better deeper than he is further forward. The fact is he’s being asked to receive the ball from the defenders and play incisive passes to break the lines. This in its nature is more risky than just playing sideways and backwards so he will lose the ball more than we’d like.
He needs to learn the system and brush up on his defensive positioning at times but I don’t know a player in the world who has been perfect in every action he’s been involved in.
Just give the guy time he could turn out to be a worldy but if he’s not he’ll no doubt be replaced. This constant criticism of him and his position on the pitch is both boring and inaccurate. It’s like we sign a player and if he doesn’t set the world alight immediately he’s rubbish and needs replacing.

He is better than Elliot for sure. I also don’t agree his issue is playing the deeper role. His biggest problem is lack of pace and if you play him as a B2B in Klopp’s system he would get slaughtered.

I’m a scout and have been for 20 years - I’m obviously not a scout. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion and putting it across with a valid argument but blatant lying and self-contradiction makes you look silly. Give it a rest mate. Macca is clearly a good player being played out of position.

So you've been a scout since maybe 2003 but Henry last played for Juve in 1999. Maybe you should switch your narrative to being a scout for 25 years so the timelines fit eh? ;)

Wow, the insight to watch Thierry Henry playing for Juventus in 1999 and see he had a bright career in front of him.
I mean he’d only already won the world cup and starred for Monaco in the Champs league and domestically, earning him his move to Juventus but wow, what an eye for talent you have.
