Lads can see 8 or 9 of our lads still in competitions. Looking like Slot will hardly have any time to work with them before the season starts. Stating 11 for first game more likely be something like Ali, Bradley, Quansah, VVD, Robbo, Elliott, Endo, Jones, Szobo, Salah and Jota. What you all think? I'm a bit bored lol.

Seen a couple of days ago that Mo is on holiday. I thought he would have returned to training last week. Anyone know if it was false reporting and he is indeed back or on an extended break.
In regards to starting line up Lee VVD has played far more minutes than Trent in this tournament and you have him starting.
Gomez and Konate might be keen to get Back and playing after having 3 weeks wasted in Germany.

The final is the 16th right? So two weeks off for anyone who goes all the way they should be back by August 1st which is over two weeks before our first game.
However by then, Slot might have already taken a liking to many of the players who are already back, or returning much sooner. So you might be right anyway, and we could see quite a surprising first XI. New managers always have a completely different take on a squad. Look at what Klopp did when he first came in. Moreno bombed out for Milner, Sakho binned completely and Benteke dropped for Firmino who Rodgers didn’t even sign as a striker. Would it really be a total shock if Slot changes up the starting XI? Probably not.

Cheers lads. I reckon I'm not far off with that team. Gomez, Konate played zero minutes, so wonder if they will need more or less time. VVD, Gakpo, Nunez, Macca and Diaz (Assuming he stays) will all have played a lot of minutes.
VVD usually plays regardless. Well at least he did under Klopp.
MK - final is on 14th July, so actually I'm a little calmer about things. Maybe the international lads will be play the last friendly game?
Actually in my boredom I've convinced myself this is all positive. Slot gets to work with all the young lads for longer with a bit of Salah, Robbo, Szobo, Endo thrown in the mix.

JK - Mo's been given an extra week or two cos he played World Cup qualifiers. He's expected to be back for all our pre-season fixtures.

If anything I think it’s great news. If anyone needed an extended break it was Mo.
I think VVD will need some much needed time off. I think he was our most used player last season for minutes.

Look like he’s staying as well SR. Hughes made it pretty clear in the presser that Salah, Trent and Virgil are all expected to be fully committed for next season regardless of their contract situations.
Side note SR, I think someone was implying your satirical comment about over 30’s on the rumours page had offended me, which was not remotely the case, as I even liked your comment. So I hope my blatantly satirical reply didn’t go over your head as well!

We didn’t win the title last year because we weren’t good enough if we go into next season without improvements made to the team for game 1 I’d be having serious doubt about Hughes being the right man.

To be honest the core of the squad have been together a while. Liverpool will have more data than you can poke a stick at at Slot will obviously have access to the data. The biggest learning curve for Slot will be with the young lads pushing for a spot in the first team squad for next season. All of these lads will be a pair of pre-season
The experienced players, in the Euros and Copa will have good game time so won’t be too far off the pace even if they are not back on board until close to the start of the season. I honestly think it will be a minor issue at best.
