Why would we even contemplate selling VVD. We have an abundance of youngsters and we need experience leaders around these lads. Has VVD lost his ability overnight? Not at all. His Positional sense is generally the best out there.
There's a reason why he makes every centre he plays alongside, look like top top players. Anyone calling for him to head off or be replaced is rediculous.
If he's not committed, then that's a different situation.

Of course if he wants to sign a new contract he is welcome to stay. The calls for him to be sold is so that we don't lose three world-class players on a free in the same season, so that we have cash injection for the re-build.

I personally wouldn't worry about losing VVD and Salah on a free in 2 years. In 2 years, you would think they would be past their best and not much value. We could have 2 more wonderful years with them. Trent however is a different situation and that's on the club for leaving it until now.
Aslong as they are both committed, understand thir roles as leaders and role models, I think they stay. We have 2 years to get the replacements we need.

Both are out of contract in 12 months Farmer, not 24 months.

Well it's on the club.
Trent is priority. The other 2s experience will be priceless this year.

Here’s what I think, enjoy.

In Anfield's heart, where legends tread,
Stands Virgil, with his lion's head.
To let him go would be a crime,
For he's the rock in our defensive line.

No desert gold, no Saudi sun,
Can match the feats our knight has won.
Too good for leagues that can't compare,
To the skill and flair he brings to bear.

In Liverpool, where greats reside,
We need our Virgil by our side.
So let the offers come and go,
For in our hearts, he'll always glow.

If the player stays and performs then im 100% of that they stay and leave for free.

I’d only be looking to sell them if there is mutual agreement to try and sell them now. But I imagine that would be difficult to do when potential buyers know they can wait and sign them for free.

The idea that we would just sell them to get money out of them before they leave for free is a bit crass to me.

I'm with you Faith.

After all the years they have contributed so much, I believe they deserve to choose whatever they want to do, even if leaves on a free.

Hey even none of them contributed anything, it's within their human rights to do whatever they want to do.
