Hi Eds, would like your opinion please. Been reading this site everyday for months and find it interesting how many on here are desperate for TAA to sign a new contract but question where he actually fits in; if he plays RB he prevents Bradley's development, and many say Bradley is a better all-round RB and if TAA plays in midfield, they say he isn't cut out for the 6 role and there isn't the time for him to learn a midfield role.
I can see him fitting in very well with Real Madrid at RB and I imagine it must be tempting to play alongside Jude, Mbappe, Modric, Valverde, Vinicus 'etc. '
So where do you think he fits in best for Liverpoool FC? How would you play him?

{Ed001's Note - I would play him in midfield and at right-back depending on what we need at the time. But I would be grooming him long term for the midfield role.}

But he failed in an underperforming England team over two matches under the guidance of an incompetent, tactically inept manager who threw him under the bus. Surely he should be written off in midfield ?. I mean come on, he’s no Kalvin Phillips!

No Southgate is crap. Trent needs to be played in midfield and given the time to learn the role. Yes he needs to improve receiving his ball with his back to goal but he is good enough to do it given time. Will he make mistakes yes but he also does that at RB. Hopefully more than makes up for it going in the other direction but getting the ball further forward.

Brummyred, there isn't time to blood him into the role, we're playing catch up as it is. This is the Premiership, not the Pie and Scratchings Pub League.
He fights it our with Bradley for the right back spot. Square pegs in round holes needs to stop.

Southgate ruined a perfected good squad, trent should of been rb or rw, Gordon LF and kane left on bench for Watkins. The biggest flaw was putting saka who I thought was England's overall stand out player. At LB.
