Struggling to understand why we are waiting for the right players before adding to our squad whilst all our main competitors have found theirs.
Are we waiting on sales?

Struggling to understand why people don't get this. New manager, new director of football, people need time to analyze the current squad. The director of football literally said July would be a quiet month and things would pick up in August.

Arsenal have signed -
Lucas Nygard (who? )
David Raya (hardly counts as strengthening on last season)
Tommy Setford (backup GK)
Califiori (fair play good signing but only signed yesterday, their first signing of note)
Man City:
Savinho (don’t know much about him but it’s not major strengthening so far)
Newcastle:
Lloyd Kelly (wow)
Notts Forrest GK (wow)
Lewis Hall
John Ruddy (wow)
Miodrag Pivas (who? )
Spurs:
Timo Werner (lol)
Archie Gray (fair play decent signing)
Lucas Bergvall (who? )
Man Utd:
Zirkzee and Yoro - potentially the best business so far but not without risk given how in experienced they both are. Look good signings but they’re so far behind the chasing pack it’s frightening.
Chelsea:
I can’t be arsed to list their signings but not a single one strikes fear into you.
Point I’m making is none of the title rivals have significantly strengthened so far (if at all) .
What will be important is everyone’s business the day the window closes.
Whilst it’s ideal for new signings to bed in during pre season, you are ultimately signing them for a 5 year period so if they’re a few weeks behind bedding in, does it really matter?
{Ed001's Note - Savinho is a scam of a signing anyway as it was just them basically selling them to themselves. If he is half as good as Girona's coach Michel thought he is, then he will be an excellent signing though.}

Thunderbird. try re-typing your post all in CAPS. maybe then they'll get it.

Ahh the classic we should just be grateful for what we have post. Couldn’t care less about the other teams. Doesn’t matter if every other team didn’t sign a single player, we’d still be short.

@Frode, on behalf of everybody that loves repetition, a heartfelt ‘thank you’.
Quick question or two for you …. Which three or four players would you buy, why would you buy them - how would they improve the team - and how would you set the team up to play? How would you stay within financial guidelines to prevent the pathetic shenanigans that went on with the likes of Villa and Chelsea the rest on June 30th, which may not have broken the rules but which was obviously a breach of the spirit of the game?

Maybe a better post would be to ask who the replacements are, how they'll fit into the squad and how we'll fit them in.
Then we can debate that.
Because these questions seem a bit a simple and come across as tho any signing would make you happy. Whereas there is more nuance to it.
Clee - who is the signing you're after and how to accomodate?

FK - where did I say we should be grateful?
I was just pointing out that it’s a complete misconception to suggest all of our rivals have found their targets and strengthened leaving us behind.
Of course writing it all out leaves little argument on that front which I’m sure is frustrating for people like you.

Excellent post shaq the zirkzee couldn’t get a game ahead o a terrible depay.

Clee Red and @Frode, and what do you propose we do? Buy players we don't need just to make certain fans feel good about themselves or go brag to their mates on the Tw@tter? People, relax.

Has this NEW director of football and SLOT not got a few tapes of our games from last season knocking about somewhere. And history stats of injuries of players. Not rocket science.
