Neto to Chelsea I think is a great signing
Right now u could argue where would he fit at lfc - I think a great replacement for Salah next year but it would be tough to play in this packed front 3 options we have

However I can say I'm not patient at all and I think the transfer process at lfc is poor.

Agree3 Disagree0

Oh I can't wait until the end of the window when you crawl away for a few more months redrebel.

I know for a fact that if we had been linked with Neto you would have been moaning about his injury history.

This tremendous wave of (presumably) kids on summer holidays is just so tiresome for grown ups.

09 Aug 2024 15:06:20
Redrebel- patience please, if the player has given the thumbs up what’s the rush, paying the buyout in one go is the last thing the club will want to do, they may be discussing a higher fee with spread payment terms or even the possibility of including player/ players, this takes time it’s called negotiating, I know it only takes 8 minutes on fifa.

09 Aug 2024 15:07:16
First of all I guarantee I’m older than you
Secondly why do you assume to such ridiculous levels so much and thirdly this is a place for peoples opinions so if your that tired go for walk or quite frankly don’t comment on here again so we don’t all suffer from your “boring” assumptions and don’t use the word fact because you don’t know anything

Nap time … don’t you think.

09 Aug 2024 15:14:14
Why do you feel the need to talk down to people? How do you actually know for a fact? You don't know anything about anyone.

09 Aug 2024 15:23:56
Aye Zed think we spoke about Neto on here or on the live chat before and the general consensus was he looks decent but a lot of injuries - he's only played like 53% or something of matches in recent times I read, general thought was we have enough injury prone players in the squad

Anyone know how Chelsea are with FFP or PSR or whatever its called now? Seem to have spent an absolute fortune in recent seasons, though they always seemed to sell a lot of academy type players so generated a lot of profit from those sales.

09 Aug 2024 15:52:09
The common thread on this site is for a select few to talk down to posters simply because they say we need signings and don’t like how Liverpool conduct their business. Given we’ve won one league title in about 35 years it’s an acceptable critique. Some posters don’t think we need signings, I think they’re wrong, but hey ho.

09 Aug 2024 15:54:18
Chelsea’s spending has been crazy.

4 players this week and €280.6 million on 12 players this window.

I’m surprised their owners haven’t started asking questions.

09 Aug 2024 15:55:22
Think you answered your own question Bill.

Redrebel1, how is the process poor? For all you/ we know; we may have made several enquires and were knocked back on the player side. So just buy say a 6th choice for the sake of buying?

If you're that old, redrebel, you should know better.

Yeah, Bill, he has always looked good, but in the last 4 years he's missed roughly half the season last year and the year before (hamstring injuries) and missed the whole of the 2020/ 21 season.

A shame as I like the idea of buying EPL proven players, and he has tons of ability, other than availability!

09 Aug 2024 15:57:49
Sorry, last season was 2 x hamstring injuries, season before was ankle and 20/ 21 was knee. Worrying for a player with pace and reminds me a bit of when Owen started getting injured.

09 Aug 2024 16:14:18
I don't get why you all get so tetchy with each other, as somebody said above it's a rumours and discussions site not everybody is going to agree with you?

Accept others opinions and if you have some value to add to the discussion then add it, if not don't. I've been guilty of it myself but I'm learning.

09 Aug 2024 16:36:42
3 premier lge goals in 3 years?.

09 Aug 2024 17:26:31
GBB86, I guess aimed at me, so I'll answer.

No problem with people having different opinions, it's why I come to this site (and have been for well over a decade) and often makes me relook at my opinions on players etc.

However, I really dislike people who just constantly whinge about the club. I don't recall redrebel (for example) having anything positive to say about the club, Yes, it could be a harking back to our dominance in the 70s and 80s, but them days are gone. We can't get back the underinvestment that Moores et al made us suffer through in the 90s and 00s when our previous dominance could have been translated into continued dominance during the Premier League era. Most annoyingly, Moores etc allowed our fiercest rivals to get the jump on us.

Personally, when you look at FSG as a whole, I think they have been (and continue to be) great owners. Look at their overall investment in the club and they have at least got us back on a level playing field with other top clubs. You can't account for owners that come and go (like Boehly and Abramovic at Chelsea and the apparent rule breaking at City) .

Like I said, what gets my goat is the constant moaning, and it happens to peak at transfer window time.

Ironic that the transfer windows happen during the longest school holiday breaks of the year (in England anyway) and the moaners seem to have a FIFA or Championship Manager (aging myself there - still really sad that CM is no more! ) .

Even Walter and Viktor have positives about the club and certain players.

It's just the incessant moaning that annoys me, and (quite often) the inconsistency. For example, Neto is injury prone vs Neto is a great buy for Chelsea.

Ironically, because Neto is injury prone, he is a great buy for Chelsea as they have around 15 players for each position!

09 Aug 2024 18:04:40
I saw a post of Chelsea’s actual squad players on insta just yesterday… ridiculous. How do you post a image on here.

09 Aug 2024 18:12:41
Never mind the signings, why do people assume age and intelligence/ patience… are connected? I got a lot less patient with the passing of the years and not really more intelligent, is it me?

09 Aug 2024 18:36:12
Upload it to the 'Player Sightings' page Magico.

09 Aug 2024 18:38:12
Tbh zed, I can’t think we’ve missed out on Neto either, the lad misses half the season with injury and his end product is poor. He’s like Quaresma, lots of tricks and flicks, but not a lot to show for it. All fart and no poo.

09 Aug 2024 19:29:45
Not aimed at anybody in particular Zed, just an overall observation.

09 Aug 2024 19:38:40
I’ll use that one next time I’m at my mother in law’s VV?.

09 Aug 2024 22:14:28
It depends what you want. If you want to sign second tier players like Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham and Villa have done then these players will be easier to obtain. Especially if you offer them ludicrous contracts like Chelsea do.

We are hopefully going after top tier players who have lots of options. That in itself means you will miss out on more players and the negotiations will be more difficult.

It’s the nature of the beast but it’s the only way we can move forward and not stagnate or go backwards like we’ve done in the past.

I don’t think there is anyone who has said that we don’t need players, every team can always improve. But we don’t need to sign players that won’t improve us so if our preferred options aren’t available I’d prefer us to not sign anyone until they are.

09 Aug 2024 22:14:57
Really enjoying the all fart and no poo Vik!

A more succinct version of sound and fury signifying nothing!

09 Aug 2024 22:33:43
Is this what a transfer window does to grown men (and women) esp. those who think they are older than everyone else? Sorry, I value my mental health.

10 Aug 2024 00:38:19
Beckers Pecker, Chelsea under Boehly haven’t been offering ridiculous contracts it’s just the length that is ridiculous, the actual wages are pretty standard. Think their wage bill of 45 players is lower than Liverpools with 28.

{Ed001's Note - initially they were offering ridiculous contracts in terms of salary as well, but they put a stop to that after the first couple of windows.}

10 Aug 2024 03:20:26
The "transfer process at lfc is poor" only came about because you have not been made aware of the sentiments of other club's fans on their own team. I suggest you go over to the Utd, Arsenal, and Chelsea pages and you'd see that fans there aren't happy with their transfer business this window too. It's a common theme every transfer window. So I don't believe that we are any worse than oyhrt teams.

10 Aug 2024 03:35:40
@GBB86, it sounds tetchy a lot of the time because they aren’t real time conversations and it is ver difficult to interpret tone.

If the same conversations took place in a pub (ah for the days before social media) the conversations would, mostly be throw away discussions that would end in ‘don’t talk soft’ or ‘your shout’.

Of course there are ‘fishers of men’ and nutters on most forums these days but in days of yore they tended to be the ones sat at the end of the bar, talking to themselves. Thanks to the interweb people (including me) sometimes rise to the bait ?.

10 Aug 2024 11:59:25
So Fuser you don’t think offering unproven kids 8 year contracts is ridiculous?

You might get one or two who are driven by more than money but for the vast majority you will get a relaxed player who doesn’t have to work too hard because they know they are good until they are 30 years old.

Like everyone, footballers need an incentive to push it that extra 10% but that’s difficult when you already know that you are financially secure for the majority of your career.
