But the thing that makes no sense is if Alisson is committed why didn't we start by focusing on a LB, CB and DM when they were much more pressing, i would say a Long term Salah replacement too is more pressing than replacing the best GK in the world who is committed to the club.

re GM purchase and loan back to Valencia, I don’t understand ppls issue,
There’s a replacement for Ali if or when required
GM is undervalued at today’s market, thus should make profit on future sale, there I imagine are loan fees, also chunk of his wages covered if not all.
Makes business sense to me.

Not that Alisson won't be at his best beyond two seasons. I honestly believe players - especially goalies - can play to their late thirties nowadays with the right lifestyle.

The thing is we can sign Trent and the gang up to new contracts on the 2nd of September but we can’t sign anyone then so maybe the club is focusing on the things they can do right now and not the things they can do when the window shuts .

Pressed send too early. I was going to say that it was Courtois who threatened Chelsea he would go sign for Atleti permanently if they tried to screw him over and keep Cech. That is how he got to start for Chelsea and Cech held bench the season they won the title in 15/ 16.
As for Ali, the guy answered the question. Not bothered with what he said. Watch what he does esp. if GM is signed.
