How many Italians have done well in the Prem?
27 Aug 2024 02:43:28
Carbone, Cudicini, Di Canio, Di Matteo, Lombardo, Ogbonna, Ravanelli, Vialli, Vicario, Zola.
27 Aug 2024 02:46:45
Zola, Di Canio, Di Matteo, Vialli, Ravanelli, so few and far between. Jorginho is the only current one playing well.

Top Reds all summer “Liverpool won’t panic buy and would wait for the right player”
Liverpool in for Chiesa.

Zola wasn't bad or di Matteo, Tonali looks pretty good but on the whole they don't travel well. You could put it down to a culture shock, one minute your basking in Calabria sipping aperol spritz, next your herding pit ponies on the grimey cobbles of northwest England looking for a discarded cigarette tab to eat.

Ranieri.

Would have loved to see Andrea Pirlo in EPL. Amazing player. Poetry in motion.

Dossena, well for a couple of games at least ?.
27 Aug 2024 06:42:49
Was it Dossena or Voronin that scored or assisted against United.
?.
27 Aug 2024 07:03:52
Aquaman.
27 Aug 2024 07:05:49
Dossena scored a beut against Man Utd.
27 Aug 2024 07:06:24
Dossa scored at Old Trafford in the 1-4 win.
Balloteli had a good season or two.

I’m pretty certain Calafiori will do well in the prem, tonali will do well this season too I’m sure. Barella is another who i think would do great in the prem, and bastoni, but they obviously won’t be leaving inter anytime soon.

I’ve only ever see Chiesa in the euros a few seasons ago and he was excellent then.
I know he had that bad injury straight after but he’s been pretty much injury free the last 2 seasons (70 games, 14 goals and 7 assists) .
We would get him for half the price we sold Carvalho for so it’s quite low risk financial wise.
I’m quite intrigued with this one, could be another Arthur or even a Robertson diamond in the rough signing.

I forgot the name. Brendan brought him from Chelsea. knife in the mouth celebration. ahhh
Trying to remember without searching.
27 Aug 2024 08:03:52
SamiKewell, I think you're referring to Borini.
27 Aug 2024 08:35:29
We signed Ian rush from Juve and he didn't do too badly, plus he looks like Luigi who is Italian.
27 Aug 2024 09:14:00
And idiots saying top reds are still about.
27 Aug 2024 09:26:28
Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti did ok too.
27 Aug 2024 10:46:47
That was my thought about Chiesa, JK: available for a lot less than we sold Carvalho for.
It could also be an "opportunistic" signing that Hughes has said we would look at. The goalkeeper, too.
It's only an exploratory approach, at the moment, but I don't think we'll be paying much for him.
I wouldn't have minded an opportunistic more defensive minded midfielder and experienced centre half though.
27 Aug 2024 10:49:17
Are we talking about players or managers? As for Chiesa, I love him to bits and think he can do a job but his knee injury (not sure if he had 2 of them) may have slowed him down. We shall see.
27 Aug 2024 10:54:52
Why do you ask, Salah?
27 Aug 2024 15:30:41
Just one of them Rigsby mate, was sat lastnight trying to think of successful Italians in this league over the years without googles help and could only think of Zola and Di Canio. There really isn't that many. The reasons for this? who really knows.
If Chiesa does come I will fully support him but I can't help thinking it'd be a bad move for him and for us but what do I know?
I feel too many people are thinking about how he was a few years ago over how he is now and just want a shiny new signing whoever it is. Low risk yes but why take the risk to begin with? flip side is he could come and do incredible for us. Time will tell.
{Ed002's Note - Carbone, Jorginho, Vialli ....................}
