Hello ed1 hope u well. Big game for us today, interesting to see how we do,1st big test of season.
As regards contract situation of the 3 lads, it's been done to death and not going over reasons why they still in this situation. How do u see it going with the 3 players now as regards staying on r going?
I was pretty confident while ago that vvd+ trent would resign and mo would leave at end of season, no inside info just gut instinct on it. Not so sure now what way it will play out.

{Ed001's Note - if I was them, I would feel unwanted.}

Ed001 on today’s game what’s your thoughts regarding the starting line up.

Is it a case of if it’s not broken don’t fix it and go same side that started last week or will a tactical change come in and a change here or there.

I’ve even seen calls (not on here) for Endo to start.

{Ed001's Note - stick with what is working for now. Slot has shown he can be quick to make changes if needed.}

Clearly, Ed01 knows some stuff in the background we don’t know that he cannot share right now hence, it will b interesting to see what the fall out will be at the end of the season or even in Jan when they are able to talk to other clubs, should they not re-sign.

{Ed001's Note - it is not that, Trent was all set to sign and happy to do so. Virgil and Mo have not even had an offer that I am aware of. How is that going to make them feel wanted when they are just left to hang like this?}

Why aren't we dealing with this properly Ed001? It feels, especially with with Trent, we're self sabotaging. Are we trying to avoid paying players £350k a week in wages and reduce our wage bill? If so, we'll struggle to keep our best players moving forward.

{Ed001's Note - just swapping one incompetent for another and none of them are actually dealing with it. It was put off for the next one and then it got put off again until after the window. It is just incompetence. People not having the balls to deal with it and leaving it for someone else to sort out.}

Maybe the club is assessing them during the early stages of the season before deciding what to do.
Maybe the players are assessing the club as well.
New manager, new way of playing, older legs, wage demands and offers and all that.

Ed01, thanks for the info. So if that is the case then, it can only mean one thing: The club isn’t bothered about them leaving should it come to that. I think they will get a contract offer but one that may not be suitable to them and this to me, will b by design.

Cos we all know when a club wants a player gone, they offer an extension that they know will not be acceptable, just to say they wanted the player to stay but rejected the contract extension. This is what I think will happen, based on the info you just provided, mate. Just my take.

Oh and the idea of leaving something undone for someone else to do over and over again, is what we call “Kicking the can down the road” in politics, something that doesn’t bode well at all.

Ed, I know you're busy, but honestly how hard can it be for these guys? We are talking about 3 of the 4 most valuable playing assets at the club. How can the club officials go to work each day, knowing they are on track to lose 150-200m worth of elite players for nothing, and not consider it a priority to deal with immediately?
To think that Virgil and Salah haven't been offered anything yet is astonishing. One is one of the greatest defenders we've had and shows no permanent decline in his capabilities, the other simply our best player of the PL era, who is reinventing his brilliance season after season.
And Trent hasn't signed yet, why? He's a long way off the dreaded - and outdated - age bracket where difficult alternatives have to be considered. The seeming arrogance of Liverpool baffles me.

{Ed001's Note - it is pure incompetence to leave it so long. There was never a need to and getting it sorted would have made the transfer window easier as well. If you want to convince a player to join, they want to see ambition, the best players I mean, and that means keeping your better players.}

Edd001 how do they even get away with it? Do fsg not even keep an eye over key players contracts being allowed to run down without anyone answering why? Hughes answered this about a month ago with slot to the press. His answer was an invasive non answer. Highly doubt he'd be saying to his employer above him "we won't be discussing players contracts". What exactly are they being paid to do? Sell a few young prospects and think they're big time Charlie's?

{Ed001's Note - FSG are very hands off, this is on Edwards, Ward and Hughes now. It should have been sorted before those 3 were involved, but that does not excuse them not dealing with it the moment they could. For me, you have to question their competence to do their roles when they are failing to deal with the most pressing issue at hand as soon as humanly possible. They have had months now and it is still hanging over our heads. Even if they do get the contracts sorted, questions need to be asked about how it was allowed to get to this point under them. It is frustrating as it is very straightforward to actually deal with.}

You'll upset Becker being critical of the club like that. He's the number one super fan don't you know.

01 Sep 2024 15:06:44
Aren’t we all fans @Endo? Someone who didn’t really support the club would have to be really, really sad with no life at all if they just came on here to be negative just for the sake of it and try and get a reaction.

It seems that fans are more bothered about the contracts than the players or the club.
Maybe because the players and the club know more about the contract situations than the fans? Is it more about us being kept in the dark than what really happens?

Absolutely agree ed, it’s only human nature to not feel valued in circumstances like this. Poor club management and poor man management, nothing says your not valued more than silence.
