I've a confession
Our football the last 2 seasons for most parts was quite dire
There were some good and exciting games, but the most parts, tame
So I became less excited about watching us
The first 2 games of the season, we got the result and some flashes of good play
But nothing really spurring me

But since our latest win at OT, I've been watching replays and checking in on news again

We will have some not so good games, drop some points and concede some goals eventually

But it's nice to look forward to watching us play and wanting more after that

It's been awhile.

Only guarantee is hospitality mate which is pricey.

You’ll have the touts but again that’s inflated and a risk you’re being lead down a garden path.

Good luck though hope you manage to get two.

Sgynwa, I would not say we were dire cos that's a bit harsh for me. I just think that blind spots (issues on and off the pitch) we had prior to that period that were there (even tho we were amazing in lots of games) came to a head and things came crashing down as our new reality set in.

Now I can understand why you didn't like watching us or were not looking forward to watching us cos at times during the 22/ 23 season, I used to dread watching us. Things were a lot better last season but the blind spots/ issues from previous came to a head and it seemed the coaching staff just either ignored them or just went thru the motions. And as soon as it was clear Klopp couldn't motivate them anymore, things just got stale, IMO.

This season and after another battering at The Toilet (Neville still thinks a 5th battering is still a fluke), things are looking up for sure. Onto the next game.

I guess you are right OR
It’s just an overall vibe that we weren't as nice to watch compared to the past years
Guess we were spoiled by heavy metal football of the highest order especially in the glory years

But hey, slot ball is here and it can always be an exciting new chapter too

I really enjoyed our OT performance even though some parts of play was still sloppy but given it’s early season, no complaints.

I agree with you OP. I thought our possession game under Pep was awful. Sideways and backwards constantly waiting for a moment of individual brilliance from someone or having to change back to the gung go style in the second half tk go and win a game, and I'm thinking "why didn't we just play like that from the start? ".
We are still playing a possession style, but now we are actually trying to pass through the lines and be attacking with it. So much better to watch. I think your spot on.

Westwood666, I always hated the possession style Klopp allowed Lijnders to foist upon us cos even with the best intentions, we either did not have the players to play it or it was a bad setup the way it was supposed to be executed or the players just didn't understand what they were being asked to do.

Now, we still play possession footie under Slot but as you said, it has an actual purpose to it offensively as we use it to attack and defend properly while still being a pressing team, like we were under Klopp. So Im loving these parts and Slot ball in general. Let's keep it going, my guy.
