Myself and a few others had said that we were ok with not making any jug signings because we wanted to see what slot could do with these players.
Three games in isn't a lot of time but since we have a break I'm curious if any people have began to come around to what we said after seeing us play?

I think it’s way too early in the season to give a definitive answer on this.
It’s been a great start and Slot has taken to the job like a duck to water. The fact he and the club tried bringing in a 50 mill Spanish midfielder and brought in an Italian international clearly shows that he thought the squad did need that little bit more.

If Elliot and Jones are both injured then it starts to become a problem. We have found most years our midfield fades a bit towards the business end of the season.

To be clear - I was in the “not going to cry endlessly about no signings” group. But I do think we need to make moves in and out of the squad. Just didn’t see the urgency necessarily in this window.
Next two windows will be key as Slot continues to identify his key playing group and any new additions.

I wanted signings too but what can one do? All in all, It's too early to tell so let's give it bit more time and a more suitable sample size of games (esp. ones where we go down a goal and things get sticky) before we give a real assessment of the start we have made.

I am still in the camp of us needing one or two more (one midfielder and one defender) .
The schedule is insane. We might get away with it if we get lucky with injuries. But that kind of hope never ends well.

How I am possibly going to get through an entire season without any new shiny toys to look and wonder at? Granted Chiesa has been brought in but I was really hoping the club would show some ambition and focus on the real prize - Mbappe. Life is simply unfair and just really tough. ?.

I said we needed a midfielder most of all, a leftfull and a centrehalf if SVB/ Gomez went. I can remember people saying alright with no signings as it got later in the window but i don't think any L'pool fans, back in May would honestly have said we didn need some new faces. to be honest i think its something you seen more commonly on here later on as people realised we wouldn't be making these signings.

Way too early to say. So far it’s been a perfect start by Slot. Don’t think anyone ever doubted Slot. Once players start picking up knocks and we’re playing every 3 days we’ll see how the squad copes. I still think we’re short to win the big titles over City and Madrid.

Is Endo totally out of picture? I remember how great he was for us against city, arsenal and in the league cup final against chelsea. The lad gives his all and often hard workers turn it around with their dedication. I hope he gets his chance when time comes and will definitely come good.

Injuries will definitely happen it just depends on WHO gets injured and at what times.
We have really good options in all positions bar perhaps left back. But if you get too many key players all out at the same time then we’ll struggle. Every team would.
Imagine if Arsenal had Saliba and Gabriel out for 2 months at the same time. The drop off to their replacements is so huge they’d struggle for top 4. Or if City had De Bruyne, Haaland and Rodri out for 2 months?
You have to be lucky not just with the amount of injuries but with who it is and the timings of injuries. If it falls the wrong way then any team would struggle regardless of the perceived squad they have. There are always weaknesses in every squad.

Jones should be back for Nottingham forest! I am looking forward to see if Tyler Morton gets some chances before the January transfer window, hopefully he grabs his chance. With Tyler Morton and Endo staying we have the numbers in midfield to deal with the season, i think. Argentina keep overplaying Mac-Allister however despite him not training since joining their camp, he played then got subbed after feeling something, and now their manager says he is training alternatively so he can play vs Colombia, a game that will be very physical and intense. Hope he comes through that one!

No, I still don’t agree, and I don’t think you can even begin to make out like you were correct 3 games into the season. There is a lot of games, a heavy schedule, and there will undoubtedly be injuries - I this we are going to be a few players short of trophies when things really kick in, but I hope I’m proven wrong.
