Hello ed1 hope u well. with the news elliott out for a while, do u think bradley could play in szobo position if needed? Both powerful direct runners. im pretty sure elliott would've been used in szobo position if and when needed. Nobody really else stands out who can play that role, I haven't seen enough of nyoni tbh to decide whether he worth a rattle.
{Ed001's Note - not really, no. Mac Allister, Gakpo can both play it, as could Jones (if he is fit), plus there are plenty of youngsters, such as Nyoni who could play it.}

Elliot's injury couldn't have happened at a worse time for him or the club.
We literally have 7 games now in a 22 day period.

I've read that at Feyenoord, Slot converted a natural winger into being his AM. So maybe Gakpo, Chiesa or even Salah could be considered as options there if Szoboszlai needed a rest. Salah has played AM for Egypt I believe, Chiesa played as a SS for Juventus last season and Gakpo played AM under Klopp at times.
Mac Allister is the standout though as he played about a third of his games at Brighton as an AM and he arguably brings more on the ball in terms of goals and assists, whereas Szoboszlai offers more off the ball in terms of pressing and selfless runs to draw defenders away.
Huge shame for Elliott, but I believe we've got a really strong squad that will cope comfortably, even with a busy schedule.

Chiesa has almost had a full season last season of playing pretty much as a CF / CAM. We’ll have options.
Part of having a very deep squad with some versatile players.
