Ed001 mate if you'r around. What's your gut instinct on what will happen with Trent.
{Ed001's Note - he wanted a new deal, but he has been left hanging months since then so no idea now. I hope he will still stay but if i was him i am not so sure i would be so keen to ink a new deal with a club that seems so not arsed to keep him.}

Same here Ed1, if I were in his shoes I'd be wanting out. I find it absolutely gobsmacking its got to this point. If he does sign a new deal I'll be very surprised to be honest.
{Ed001's Note - I just don't understand it, there is no excuse to have not got his sorted. Salah and VVD understandable due to age but not Trent. It is embarrassing to act this way.}

This is one of the real negatives at the club at the minute. We are playing very nice and have a good manager come in who has settled in brilliant but this situation is absolutely mind boggling. We are literally weeks away from other clubs being able to talk to Trent, vvd, &salah. How has this been aloud to happen. Can you imagine come next summer we lose all 3 and have to find the right players and fund it!
02 Oct 2024 13:02:57
We don't know exactly what is going on with negtiations, maybe trent is giving us the impression he wants to stay but his demands are not healthy enough to except.
02 Oct 2024 13:16:51
Still time, personally this wouldn't make me want out of the club i've always supported. Has been a lot of upheaval and now the club can look after the 3 lads.

No one in their right mind would let Trent leave for free. I don’t believe it’s as simple as we just haven’t offered a contract.
02 Oct 2024 15:56:28
Who's to say that with the recent major changes at the club, not just the foreground but at executive level behind the scenes, it wasn't TAAs camp who put talks on hold whilst they waited to see what the restructure looked like?
I think it naive to put blame on either the club or player without knowing the facts. I am sure once the dust has settled either way we will hear the reasons behind it.
02 Oct 2024 17:37:18
I agree pegleg and stuie. There is no way on earth the club have just allowed this to happen without any thought.
There is obviously a reason why it has got to this point but it’s not that the club have just not bothered or have forgotten.
At least I hope not because if that is the case we are being run by a bunch of idiots.
02 Oct 2024 19:24:17
There's a lot of things we do not know that are going on or went on in the background about these contractual issues not just with Trent but with VVD and Salah.
Now I get it. Contract negotiations are often complicated in nature on a normal level let alone under current ccircumstances with players of legendary status at the club. Now I don't know how many balls were dropped or who dropped them but we're going to have to see what happens.

Is it possible that his agent is playing games with Liverpool? The longer a contract isn’t signed the more money we lose and, perhaps, the more money his agent makes, either with a better paid contract at Liverpool or the vast sums of money that RM always magically seem to have. Not saying this has anything to do with Trent per se, if he is reliant on his agent to act on his behalf.

They procrastinating over a deal because this Trent Alexander Generational Talent status is not back up Michael Edwards stats.
03 Oct 2024 03:18:20
Ed1, I agree, if he ends up leaving because of this it'll be absolutely mental mate. It's a scary thought the fact of we may not have Trent, VVD AND Salah next season. If that happens then I just don't know. Imagine them all going on a free? .
You are right VVD and Salah - due to their ages but at the same time Salah is still getting them numbers, as long as it continues we should be giving him a new contract. VVD - Still good. You know what worries me mate is who do we replace these lads with? I know it happens, players, they come and go and all but not like this 3 of our top 4 players leaving. I know I'm jumping the gun a bit speaking out of my backside because nothing is confirmed yet but if that happens? well, we'll be in trouble. Two of our most important defenders gone and our best forward gone, just like that.
Just seems like constant terrible decisions at the minute - Mamardashvili we signed for no reason, Chiesa a huge gamble (hoping for the best for the lad) and not making 3 very important players feel welcome. It's just fkn stupid in my eyes. I know bugger all but I know enough to know this isn't right. Oh yeah and we're now talking about giving Diaz a new contract who still has two years or is it three? years left. None of it makes any sense.
Poor Slot must be pulling his hair out! oh wait. Yeah. :) Ah well, my attempt at humour once again fails. hahaha. Ey mate I hope you're smiling right now, if you aren't it's no bloody good!
Hope you're well my mate.
{Ed001's Note - it is just really bizarre as Trent could have been dealt with long before the changes at the top of the club.}
03 Oct 2024 08:19:16
I’ve got no faith in hughes whatsoever.
03 Oct 2024 09:26:59
The fact that the club's hierarchy has been completely overhauled over the past few months clearly had an impact on contract issues.
{Ed002's Note - No it hasn't impacted it. This should have been sorted out long before now.}
03 Oct 2024 09:58:23
I’m pretty sure Hughes is confident enough not to worry to9 much, if at all, about what a fans forum thinks.
{Ed002's Note - FSG pay a Hartford based company to have staff scan forums to get feedback on all of their sporting investments including Liverpool.}
03 Oct 2024 11:03:36
They must have taken the summer off when forums all over the world where telling them we needed a midfielder and a centrehalf.
{Ed002's Note - FSG don't decide which players to buy. You seem to have no understanding how the club is run.}
03 Oct 2024 12:22:45
We're pretty much unanimous in thinking that TAA should stay and that the club should have moved forward regardless of what changes were being made at upper management. I can understand some hesitation with VVD and Salah, because of their age, and the need for the new manager to see them in action and develop his thoughts on them.
But clearly the ball has been dropped in TAA's case; there's no way to sugarcoat it. Hughes is going to be in for serious brickbats if he let's TAA slip through his hands.
