Question for the Eds - is there typically an in-house punishment system for players who get red cards? Watching West Ham and Kudus' deliberate actions have left his already-struggling team without one of their best players for 3 games. He got a couple of arms around his shoulders as he headed down the tunnel yet if i were Lopetegui, or if it was a Liverpool player, i would be livid. Do the players get punished by their clubs as well as the FA for (potentially) derailing their season?
{Ed001's Note - yes there is but why is Kudus getting it in the neck? He was attacked from all sides by multiple opponents, after having been the only player to have done anything from his team and so likely extremely frustrated. I agree, there was no choice but to red card him, but the deliberate actions were from the 6 or 7 opposition players who went at him. He was just reacting, the only time a West Ham player showed any fight in the entire game.}

He reacted through frustration as you say but in the space of 20 seconds he had kicked Van der Ven twice and pushed two players in the face. he's let down his team after carrying them for an hour. If he's that easily triggered, other sides will be using it against him.
{Ed001's Note - and he had been pushed and kicked by just as many players. I don't see your point. These are human beings, it was a deliberate act of all their players to take it in turns to have a go in order to ensure none of them got a red, while winding him up as he was the only danger. It was proper old school sh**housery and his reaction was hardly worthy of a red card, other than the world we live in being so soft and pathetic. Footie is a wimps game now, no wonder they all get injured so much, they are pathetic and a little bit of contact has them throwing themselves to the ground.}

The 2 Spurs players went down like they'd been shot. Whilst I agree that Kudus needed to be sent off, this play acting needs to be sorted as well. Clutching your face like you've just been punched by Conner Mcgregor is pathetic and embarrassing. Football, at the top level, has gone to the dogs.

If there is an in-house punishment system for red cards, I doubt West Ham adhere to it strictly - they are the most unserious club in football and not a thing they do is done with any strategy or conviction.
That said, while Kudus deserved his red card, games that are refereed fairly and correctly very rarely end up with players is frustrated as Kudus was.

“The most unserious club in football”. I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate, and anyway it’s United ?.

Love it ed 1. So true. People are getting pixxed off with this kind of shxthousery. The battle for the soul of Football has been well and truly lost.

One can only express my "KUDOS" to Kudis!

I thought that was embarrassing by both Van De Ven and Richarlison. It was barely a tap by Kudus and they went down like a sack of potatoes. Especially Richarlison who ran over to Kudus just to flop over like a dead fish.

You could be seen as a wimp if you can't cope with proper old school sh**housery.
It's been part of the game for as long as I can remember.

Tristan, I've long held the belief that in a situation where player A fouls player B, and player B goes rolling around on the floor like he's been shot, only to miraculously recover a minute later, the ref should be allowed give the foul against player A (cos it was one) and then book player B for play acting.
That'd stamp it out sharpish.
{Ed001's Note - they should 100% book a player for play acting - van de Ven is a case in point. He dived to the floor like he was shot, only to jump up the moment he realised the ref had not seen what happened. It is outright cheating and should be punished heavily. I agree, that would stop it quickly.}

On another note, I’ve watched WestHam a few times this season and it’s not pretty. They are a mess.

A player can be booked for feigning injury.

Sin bin them - dissent and simulation.

When's that ever been enforced Rigsby? Cos I can't remember a time I saw it happen. Even when Richarlison pretended he was injured from heading the ball.

As it is near to Halloween richarlison has gotten ready rather early as he is dressed as a footballer goes down far to easy could you imagine him playing say ice hockey or being in the ring with Connor Mcgregor?

I think kudus needed 2 yellows for that even if its a red. But they cannot use var and give 2 yellows can they? And wasnt kudus being pushed and pulled too. We the fans sitting on our arse only become so emotional. Imagine the guys putting all the work.

I didn't say it had been enforced, Something Red; I'm just explaining the laws of the game.
You want something enforcing that is already enforceable, not me.
As a guess, I'd say that referees don't want to get into judging whether a player is hurt enough to be feigning it or not. I've seen players go down with no contact made by an opponent close by and they have done an ACL.
It would be another minefield for referees to navigate.

"the only time a West Ham player showed any fight in the entire game. "
That is the real scandal here, Ed01. Spot on. If WH had shown any type of fight that Kudus showed with multiple players picking on him and flopping to the ground whe he reacted like to took a punch from Tyson Fury, then WH would have had a better go at it footballing-wise and Kudus would not feel like he was being bullied en masse. Wretched performance from the WH team bar Kudus.
