Ed1. It's been confirmed that Dave Fellows has left the club as director of scouting and recruitment. Do you see Ian Graham returning to oversee operations in that department?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea. It is worrying that it is Fallows that left while Hughes still carries on though.}

Agree0 Disagree5

This is kinda 2 birds one stone question. Is Edwards pushing him out? How bad does Hughes have to be before he is shown the door and is there info on where he is going? Any chance Klopp poached him for red Bull?

25 Oct 2024 19:28:27
Aye, he's only 64, too.
He wanted to step down before this season but stayed on to help the newcomers.
After 12 years of service and 64 years of age, I wish him well without looking for any drama in his decision.
We lost Jürgen Klopp less than six months ago and we are surviving.

Fallows is 64 and has been at the club for 10/ 12 years. One last big move/ new challenge or retirement? Why does it have to be a negative?
Check the article on how Bobby F came to arrive at liverpool. its an excerpt from the data guy, Ian and is in the Guardian today. Eddy at his best.

Fallows is going to be a miss. I watched a podcast with Ben Jacobs and he gave a rundown of hos extremely important Fallows was to the recruitment team and how he contributed to the overall great recruitment we had when Klopp was here.

Juve must have something on one of our transfer team.

They’ve managed to get 16 million out of us for Arthur and Chiesa.

I’d love to see Chiesa be a success here but the early signs aren’t exactly promising. Seen reports of a possible loan out in Jan as well.

25 Oct 2024 23:54:19
@Ed1. It’s probably the case that Fallows has decided on retirement or maybe a new challenge. I could be wide off the mark here but I have a feeling Ian Graham is coming back, which is also a really good thing. But guess it’s a wait a see kind of thing. Anyways, I thank Fallows for his time at the club as he was an integral part of a successful period.

@Rigsby. I didn’t even realise he was 64 years old. Like you said, we lost Klopp and we are surviving. So personally I trust the guys at the top. They didn’t do too bad with Slot.

Chiesa will come good. It might take him a while to get up to speed but the lad is a class act. I love the respect some of the fans have for players that don’t fit in straight away.

26 Oct 2024 07:47:43
Aoe my comment was said tongue in cheek mate.

26 Oct 2024 08:16:57
Which player in the current first team didn’t get a game for about 6 Mo this after he joined us?

26 Oct 2024 08:34:12
No idea WDW.

Who was it?

26 Oct 2024 09:02:42
@JK23 I think WDW is referring to Robertson.

26 Oct 2024 09:06:45
JK23, it was Robertson.

26 Oct 2024 09:41:52
Tristan that’s false mate.

He started and played our 2nd league game of the season against Palace (90 mins)

He then played our 5th league game against Burnley (90 mins)

And our league cup game against Leicester (90 mins)

26 Oct 2024 10:13:43
In fact by the 6 month period he had started 17 games.

As I’ve said above I really want Chiesa to do well and I do hope it works out. All I’ve said is it doesn’t look promising so far.

Comparing what Klopp did 7 years ago with a player is a fair enough argument but Klopp has gone so it’s a new regime under Slot.

26 Oct 2024 12:03:43
We all knew what we getting when we signed him
He has had his injuries.

Hes not going to want to be there on the treatment table. Let’s believe in him as we do as supporters and when he’s back cheer him on to make him the best he can be

We don’t know if it’s a mistake. Until it is he’s out player. WE ARE LIVERPOOL.

26 Oct 2024 23:13:02
I really hadn’t realised Robbo had played that many so early in his debut season. I didn’t check and just went with folklore. I did see that Chiesa has only been available for 4 games so far and that he played a good number of minutes in two of the four games. Not conclusive but seems to suggest that when he is available, he’ll get onto the pitch.

27 Oct 2024 05:13:09
When we signed him I didn't think he would be the right type not just for Liverpool but the UK in general. I haven't met chiesa personally but I am friends with others in my field who have and she described him as a player very likely to get homesick. He doesn't really like to leave Italy for extended periods.

Maybe he will adapt we will see.

27 Oct 2024 07:59:27
WDW no problems and I actually 100% get where you were coming from.

I actually want Chiesa to do well here and I think my initial tongue in cheek comment looked like I was digging him out to some.

With no pre season and the team doing well he’s always facing an uphill battle to get into the team even when fit.

He’s probably more comparable to Gravs situation last season than he is Robbo. And that’s turned out well.

27 Oct 2024 09:11:15
Fair call making the comparison with Grav. I’d like to see Chiesa kick on with us. If he can get back to the top form he showed before the major injury the money we paid for him will be fantastic business.

27 Oct 2024 10:21:48
He isn't not playing because he is homesick though, Nevada.
Loads of people work away from home and just get on with it. I'd be ok with Chiesa having a couple of good seasons with us before returning home, if he wanted to.
I believe fitness is the issue. Hopefully he can get fit and be professional enough to give us a couple of decent seasons, at least.
