People have been suggesting that Trent will get slaughtered by the RM fans if he were to go there since they are tougher whereas his deficiencies are forgiven and he is protected by the Liverpool fans. Well, if this is him being protected, I can't imagine what being criticised would be like ;)

Completely forgot about that Stuie. In that case, in comparison, Trent really is treated like royalty now. We may bash him, question his loyalty and commitment, and want him sold every other week but at least we don't racially abuse him. Definitely shows that he gets a free pass by us.

I hope Trent stays but I can understand people being upset or angry with him after his interview.
To claim that he would rather win the Ballon d'Or than the league or Champions league does not sit well with a lot of people - it's a team sport and even if you are only interested in looking out for yourself you don't say that to the camera! Especially when the truth is that if you want to win the Ballon d'Or you pretty much have to play for Real or Barcelona or you simply won't get the votes.
He also used some strange phrasings that I hope I'm reading far too much into but he gave me the impression that he was only concerned about Liverpool for this season and not necessarily the next.

Not fishing @mcgoveb - just pointing out that the ‘mock epic’ discussion about the poor state of the club in general and certain players in particular is a rehash of a ‘narrative’ that is over 300 years old and as they colourfully say in Australia ‘sh1ts me to tears’. Of course, I don’t have to keep reading the crap but you could argue that I don’t actually know it’s the same old rubbish until I actually start to read it.
