You were the best ten hag! My condolences to you!

28 Oct 2024 12:20:06
A sad day for football fans all across the country haha.

28 Oct 2024 12:22:56
He was the best. Hopefully they get Southgate in next and continue the legacy that he set.

28 Oct 2024 12:28:47
Dam it he’s gone
Up the pool.

28 Oct 2024 12:37:07
No! This is SO unfair!

Ten Hag deserved at least another seven years to turn it around.

28 Oct 2024 13:06:13
I loved his press conferences, they were just pure comedy gold - ah well, what was it he once said 'eras come to an end' ??.

28 Oct 2024 13:17:55
Very poor from Man Utd. He deserved more time.

28 Oct 2024 13:20:25
I'm suddenly so very sad for the guy!

28 Oct 2024 13:23:35
I would have given Ten Bob a bit longer. They are not in the relegation zone and still in all the cups. Plus they have been a little unlucky with losses and draws this season.

28 Oct 2024 13:35:20
I don't think a new manager will solve anything whatsoever, 15 or 16 of the players are Ten Hag players.
Southgate is 1st choice in the summer.

28 Oct 2024 13:48:15
i must say i am bitterly disappointed with Utd all round
1) how can they fire a manager that has won a silverware in each of his season in charge? mind you, the route to FA cup included wins over Liverpool and Man City, whilst Klopp went almost 4 seasons before he picked up the first trophy

2) i read that he has about the same no. of pts as Fergie in the league at this stage? surely, he could have been afforded more time

3) his new players need time. i mean, which manager can come in to take charge of a new team with almost no signings and be among the top of the table. surely that's an anomaly that is rate and he should have been given the chance to work with his old and new signings

4) the PL's entertainment value be it in Utd's matches or pre and post match conferences just dropped. I mean, the owners are all about the money, so why did they do this to themselves?

5) and we wanted a season without much fanfare from the fans but surely, there is going to be nationwide protest about his untimely and unfair sacking. just riling the fans of all other clubs for no good reason.

6) and they are not even out of any competition yet! gosh i can go on. so very poor from Utd's top brass.

28 Oct 2024 14:20:05
Not going to lie, I’m gutted ?.

28 Oct 2024 14:25:59
Ten hag should still be manager . he won more than the supposedly messiah of Arsenals, Arteta. let's hope Southgate gets the job.

28 Oct 2024 14:35:18
No VAR talk today?
That was never a penalty given against United yesterday and I thought there might be some backlash about it.
As you were, then.

28 Oct 2024 16:35:38
Van Nistelrooy named interim, ManU want Thomas Frank per espn.

28 Oct 2024 17:25:07
Sad day for football. Although it’s exciting seeing who’s next. Jennings Berg got it right saying all the best managers are taken and I don’t think there’s much chance of improvement with the options available and also the fact that the Glazers are still there. Bring on Gareth!

28 Oct 2024 17:27:11
Oh yes and I’m looking forward to Shappy’s next comic episode in polishing a t#rd.

28 Oct 2024 17:44:58
WDW3, Shappy's already composing his next article: "Why the Eric ten Hag era should be seen as success. "

I hope they get Roy Keane as the next manager.

28 Oct 2024 17:56:44
Im really sorry that this era came to an end?‍??‍??‍?.

28 Oct 2024 18:04:06
Initially I thought Ten Hag was a good appointment for them at first.

But he made baffling decision after baffling decision.

Right from the off he had one of his key men to his Ajax successful period in Donny van de beek. He was excellent pressing from the front and offering a playmaker type role as CF with Wingers being the prime goal threat. Much like a Firmino, Salah, Mane type model. I found it really strange he didn't use him to implement something similar.

United is a tough tough job for whoever comes next. Hopefully it will get the better of the next guy in and ruin his career like so many before. We can only hope. Personally I'm hoping Potter gets it.

28 Oct 2024 18:23:46
He’s welcome in Liverpool whenever he wants. Legend.

28 Oct 2024 18:43:07
Ruben Amorim by all accounts.

28 Oct 2024 18:58:52
Something Red. Be careful what you wish for. For all you know, Roy Keane could scare the sh*t out of that squad, into playing much better. ?.

28 Oct 2024 19:01:44
I just saw on the BBC website that he spent £ 564m on transfers since joining in April 2022. It’s an obscene amount of money to spend in the first place but if you are going to spend that much then you would expect to have a much, much better squad than they have. Debatably their best prospect is Mainoo and the irony is he was born in Manchester (Stockport) and came through their youth system ??.

Carragher said ge thought that United were the most poorly coached club in the PL and he might well have been right but the problem is, and has been since the Glazers took over, is the lack of a culture within the club. You look at Busby, Ferguson and you see a definition of what the club is and where it is going (rather than wants to be) . The likes of Ole and Ten Hag are just the effects rather than the cause.

As an aside, from our perspective we can look at Shanks, Sir Bob, King Kenny and the “Ordinary One’ and you see what we stand for and so far Arne is showing (in a reserved, controlled way) the first signs of what we can be.

28 Oct 2024 20:09:29
Can we end the argument now that winning trophies is the most important.

29 Oct 2024 10:00:30
Good point, Faith; but Ten Hag has won more in English football than Slot has ?.
