I know that Arsenal scored twice but the only shot our keeper had to deal with was sakas goal, so Arsenal may have had more of the ball, but not much end product in shots on goal. I was amazed how when LFC scored the second goal, all the play acting and rolling on the floor pretending to be injured stopped.

i really hope they never win the Prem again. They are cheats and it all comes from their manager, 'the new Marinio' as Carra said on sly sports.

Totally agree, their antics come from Arteta and are a disgrace.

Arsenal fans are happy enough because they are in the hunt and seem to defend Arteta, but I think it's a real shame to what was a lovely team to watch in the early days of Wenger.

It was a Big fixture. 2 massive clubs with 6 European Cups between them ?.

Brilliant LFC8 ?.

Arteta is worse than Mourinho. At least Mourinho is brazen about what he is and what he stands for.

Arteta will try to make out he’s all about beautiful football and have his team dive, block, grab, feign injury just to try to get an advantage. He’s more like Simeone than Mourinho.

I had to laugh when he tried to go up against Pep and Pep called him on it. He then backtracked badly with a snivelling interview where he crawled so far up Pep’s backside it was hard to know where Pep ended and Arteta began. Embarrassing.

If that had been Mourinho he’d have stood by his comments whether it annoyed Pep or not. He certainly wouldn’t have embarrassed himself with that weak, pathetic plea for Pep’s forgiveness.

Agree with the Simeone comparison. Mourinho is a lot more likeable and has won a considerable amount more than Arteta so imo is on a different level despite dropping off.

{Ed025's Note - Mourinho more likeable Bmena?, not for me, im not Arteta,s biggest fan but Jose is one egotistical horrible up his own arse prick in my book mate..

Your second goal came from us pressing up to your goalkeeper, and you compare to Mourinho?

Personally I thought you were very lucky not to concede a red card, a penalty, and a last minute winner.

Sorry we stole your limelight (;

Imagine an Arsenal fan saying ‘you should have had’. It made me smile but welcome to the board.

29 Oct 2024 06:31:30
Sirwenger welcome.

I'm guessing the red is Vvd for tripping Havertz and him going down like he's been shot by an elephant Gun? No doubts you will say he kicked him but terminology in football these days makes it sound more brutal than UFC.

In this day and age though nothing surprises me as a red card so could have gone either way.

The pen shout is that the Konate tackle? For me it was a great tackle.

And last minute goal the Arsenal player has won the header aggressively but has gone through the back of players shoulders and head he's that high.

I thought Arsenal actually took their foot off the gas when you were on top and played for a 2-1 win.

The week before I was frustrated as a home supporter seeing us do the same but we saw the game out.

Can I ask were you frustrated as a supporter seeing your team play at home be 2-1 up and time waste from the 50th minute with injuries rather than going for the jugular and seeing it then cost you?

To be fair arsenal losing Gabriel and timber during the match and saliba prior was a very big hit for them, arteta’s system hinges very much on their starting back four and especially Gabriel. That being said it’s a constant with them ‘playing smart’ (that is trying to get marginal gains throughout the game fouling and breaking up rhythm and wasting time), so that’s not restricted to this game. Still, going out to the corner flag when it hasn’t even reached the 70 min mark is pretty insane, I’m not sure even Southampton wouldn’t do that if they were a goal up against us and in our half at that mark (maybe arsenal fans would say that’s why arsenal are a winning team and Soton aren’t? Who knows)

Some people would say it’s arteta gaming the system but it hasn’t actually worked considering his side haven’t actually won anything despite spending loads? Not crapping on arsenal or anything because they have some truly top players, Declan rice becoming a set piece specialist wasn’t something I had ever envisioned and Saka is just ridiculous getting up and down the pitch and pulling top drawer plays out whenever he feels like it, but watching them play is really a bit of an ordeal in general.

On Slot, I feel like arsenal looked so much the better side because Jones and mac aren’t the players we should start in there when arsenal are creating that box to outnumber us in possession, slot pushed Trent up there in the second half and brought on dom and immediately we had control of the game, I have no idea why he waited so long to fix things when it looked like arsenal were in complete ascendancy for 45 minutes…. sure he thought we restricted them to almost zero top quality chances but the two goals we did let in were also very preventable (Virgil leaving robbo out there isolated against one of the best one on one offensive players in the league…robbo could have dealt with that easy two or three years ago but not now) .

To me it really felt like arteta accepting that once gabriel and timber came off there was no way they were going to try and kill the game and get stretched. In some ways I suppose that’s fair and on some level absolutely defensible giving arsenal's position in the gamestate and also the table, but the continuous wasting of time and falling on the ground and professional fouling to try and see it out…. surely doesn’t make them an appealing side to watch if you're a ljverpool fan or even a neutral, so arsenal fans might be best telling critics to shove off and accept that these street smarts are a crucial part of their game rather than putting forward the case that they play beautiful positive football first and foremost.

I was going to reply to our Arsenal friend but that does it JK23 :)

Arteta is so unlikeable. Most arrogant manager I’ve seen in a long time. Arsenal were my 2nd favourite team to watch growing up as they always played attractive football - even in the later years under Wenger. Arteta has transformed them into a defensive minded functional team but they haven’t won anything to justify the change in style. At least Jose had personality.

29 Oct 2024 09:16:02
Arteta won the FA Cup as Arsenal manager.
I think Arsenal edged it on Sunday. They are a better side than us but I think their injuries and the suspension made it more even but they shaded it.
It was a decent point for us and I don't see the point of calling anyone that is better than us or gets a result against us as cheats or boring or whatever.

29 Oct 2024 09:23:32
They are like Citeh but without the charisma ???.

29 Oct 2024 09:58:57
But City are boring AND cheats, WDW ?.
I get the banter and mentioning the 115 charges and Arsenal's lack of recent silverware is a bit of fun but I don't get the bitter fun (see what I did there? ) . We should be able to lose and draw and accept that other teams might be better than us without name calling.
It's not a path to go down and it can lead to more serious stuff.

29 Oct 2024 10:12:03
Tbf I’ve also found us pretty boring to watch for the last couple of seasons. Don’t think we will ever beat that first few seasons under Klopp, what a team and style of play. For the last few years we’ve attempted to play possession football with midfielders and forwards who struggle to make a 5 yard pass more often than not.

29 Oct 2024 11:03:40
I’ve met Arteta a few times when he was still a player, Incredibly dull and soulless (even by footballer standards) and a bit of a strange one as well.

I was looking forward to that match tbh and then disappointed
- 1st half Liverpool never turned up, but Arsenal were good and Saka had Robbo cooked. Liverpool deserved to be behind, would Allison have saved either though? Certainly the near post one I think but hey
- what was the crack with Arsenal throwing themselves to the foor again and again?
- taking the ball to the corner? Timewasting? Surely go for the jugular? They had a good first half so go straight for them again, or was Arteta just happy with the lead?
- all the talk of injuries, he's fooling nobody. Not a sinner thought the 'injured' Saka would miss that game - amazing how many injured players make miraculous recoveries to face Liverpool isn't it lads, swear Anfield like Lourdes these days lol

Arsenal better first half, Liverpool better second - draw prob fair though both could have nicked it. The tantrums though over some of the decisions are far over the top, jeez just ask Liverpool or Wolves fans what it's like to be shafted by officiating but some of the calls highlighted across social media are wild most are kinda subjective, see them given types, or honestly where a player has done something stupid fs but nothing even close to what the likes of Wolves see every week

I used to love watching Arsenal, played great stuff - still do at times but Arteta doesn't half give off about every decision likes ththere'a conspiracy against him. I swear, Arsenal would be better if they just played. They are a great team, none of this throwing themselves to the floor again and again or timewasting rubbish, just play - play that quick football and they'll blow so many teams away.

LiverpoolFC8, have you ever tried Stand-Up Comedy? If not, you definitely should. That was a banger, lol.

@1985mikey1985, I saw Arteta arrive at PSG directly from the Barcelona B team 25 years ago and trust me from then till he retired, NOBODY ever accused the guy of being a good player. Even Arsenal fans never thought that.

As for some of these Arsenal fans and Arteta, they are becoming absolutely insufferable with their deluded nonsense and how much time they spend with this "Oh, woe is us" rubbish. They literally make things up in their own heads and minds and cos they are in a hermetic bubble, they believe the rubbish they tell themselves. While the rest of the world is staring at them like they are all under some type of spell and need an exorcist ASAP.

Serwenger, welcome to the forum. You man were better in first half. We were better in the second half. If your genius of a manager chose to sit back then, that's a choice he made. Slot figured your tactics out and made the changes required and we got the goal.

You say you dropped off leading to us scoring the goal to tie the game due to the injuries to Gabriel and Timber. Again if Slot hadn't figured you out and made the changes to personel and tactics, you dropping off and losing both players would not have mattered cos you would have won. You didn't cos you couldn't see the game out.

You stole our limelight? Err, you were leading 2-1 and we equalized and got a well deserved point for a good second half display. If anyone's limelight is missing, it would be yours BUT I know for many in your fan base, up is down, black is white and a correct decision going against you, is a conspiracy. You are who you are. Embrace it.

Arteta and Arsenal fans don't bother me in the slightest.
A lot of the stuff I'm reading about them is completely OTT but very entertaining!
It makes a refreshing change from VAR and Pep Lijnders, too.
I wonder what we've got in store for Brighton and its fans over the next two games.
