Ed001 and Reds, anyone knows what's going on with Jayden Danns? Tonight's game was his. I know he was injured, but that was in August or so, and so far I haven't heard a word about his injury or how long he's out for. Any insight will be appreciated.
Thanks. YNWA.
{Ed001's Note - he has a back problem and the only real news was at the beginning of the month, but these kind of problems are difficult ones. You have to remember he is only 18 as well, they will be cautious with him.}

Thanks, 001.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Danns posted at the start of October that he was back running for the first time. So he was around 2 and a half months in rehabilitation
Do we think he would have been a better fit than Gakpo last night.

Real shame he is injured as I loved the way he played last season a real prospect on our books
Up the pool.

JK. Danns would have played through the middle alongside Gakpo and Diaz rather than the likes of Szobo and Jones rotating up front. Gakpo would have still played on the wing (where he was great last night! )
Get well soon Jayden.

Shipley i missed the game last night due to work.
Did Gakpo play on the wing? I just assumed he was through the middle.
Who played up top then? Was it Diaz?

Also i think if fit Danns would have been at Plymouth this season as he was literally on the brink of the move when the injury happened.

Back problems are always a tricky one, just like hamstrings. You have to be 100% sure you are fully recovered before you go back to playing again. Setbacks can be worse than the initial injury itself, at times.

Sorry to hear that JK - We didn't really have a centre forward for a lot of the game last night. We had Diaz and Gakpo up top but mainly staying wide (although there was a bit of fluidity) . We played 4 midfielders with Szobo and Jones ahead of Endo and Morton. Szobo and Jones joined in up top as-and-when almost like a false 9 (as Klopp used to call it) . It was a strange setup but I seem to remember us doing something similar in pre season when we didn't have a striker available.

Small sample size from last season obviously, and academy promise don't always translate to men's game, but that kid Jayden Danns has the markings of a good striker about him. I'm just hoping he makes a full recovery and comes back into the squad. A natural, gangly finisher is always welcome at Anfield!
