I can’t believe people are complaining about our style of play we’re top of the league and all I hear is moaning, I’d love us to play beautiful football every week but winning ugly is all that counts, get used to it.
02 Nov 2024 21:38:11
Think we’re top because city been unlucky with injures and crap.
02 Nov 2024 21:40:25
I think that there are already a lot of tired football players and an awful lot os teams missing players through injury.
Look at us we have Ali, Jota, Elliott and Chiesa who are long term injuries.
City are missing Rodri, the Ballon D’Or winner out all season, De Bruyne who is out long term
Arsenal have Odegaard out long term and have had Timber out until recently along with Calafiori out now.
I saw that Wharton is to undergo surgery and Eze wasn’t playing for Palace today either.
There are too many games and too much pressure and stress put on the players. Quite apart from the (long term) physical and mental damage for players - which is the major problem, it also means that sides are stripped of their (best) players which adversely impacts the quality of play which, in turn means spectators going to the match aren’t getting the value for money that they deserve.
There is a clear and direct link between match volume and frequency, players health an welfare, the quality of play and the value for money that spectators pa (large amounts) to watch.
After our last two or three games, played within a week there have been complaints on this board (observation not a criticism) that our first half performances have been poor. I think my rant above is a significant contributory factor in our slow starts.

Its unbelievable mate, what's good for me is that we are winning deservedly despite not being at our best. Slot has been here a minute, it takes time to get a team to play the way you want, and i only see us improving.

Take a bow tonight the Anfield 2nd half crowd. brilliant again

The Live chat was shocking at half-time today. Whining, the players are being bullied, this player is no good, that player needs to come off, why is Konate crying. Slot doesn’t know what he’s doing and we’re lucky to be top. I mean, c’mon, really?
I had to log off immediately. An entitled bunch of princesses.
Slot clearly does know what he is doing. Trent kept Mitoma quiet, no mean feat. And we stepped up massively second half. The crowd was immense. Top of the league. Two points clear of City and 7 points clear of Arsenal.
Oh and Salah overtook God today, so what does that make him? Osiris?
02 Nov 2024 22:55:47
We’re top because we’ve dropped 5 points from 10 games.
We’re top of the CL table because we have a 100% record.
We’ve done that with the best goalkeeper in the world out injured.
We deserve to be top of both leagues.
02 Nov 2024 23:53:08
Crap first half. Good second half. It’s a game we should win at Anfield and we did. Slot made the changes and earned his money today ??.

The negative people will always try to find something to be negative about and when they can't they patiently wait for the chance. A lot of fans like that won't post anything when we are flying but will pounce as soon as something goes wrong. I get a feeling some are happier when things go wrong because it vindicates a point they've previously made be it about signings, tactics, whatever. Its a pretty miserable way of thinking in my opinion but each to their own. We are top for a reason and every other club in the country would swap their position for ours.
03 Nov 2024 00:27:22
Forget how other teams are doing, we're top because we've been the best currently. To me I don't even know how it's a debate, we've had a great start and long may it continue, we will have some bad days but overall right now? we can't moan too much.
Only thing I will say is I am not keen on the first half performances and then us turning it on in the second half, this has happened often but at the same time we're getting the desired results so no complaining from me.
I knew nothing about Slot before he came but my word from what I can see so far we're laughing with him in charge.
This is how titles are won, at any cost. I don't care if we play rubbish every single week, if we're getting the results I won't be moaning about it. Nobody remembers about how sh*t you were against Brighton or Forest, what people do remember is what is won. Performances mean bugger all to me as long as we're getting them wins, and we are.
The league is ours, Slot will make history.
Believe.

StEtienne,
The live chat is lively and beautiful place. Best place on this website on match day. So much fun and real stressbuster.
Our first half play was real snoozefest and chat was more interesting.
Not sure why Brighton backed off and thought to protect the lead, ultimately played into our hands and paid the price.
They are well run club and just found that their coach is youngest in PL at 31. Well done to Seagulls.
Nice to see the brilliant goal from Salah after long time. Super.

Very mature guy at 31. Fabian
Super press conf where he answers very well and honestly. Breath of fresh air. Hope he has a great future.
Waiting eagerly for Ed1's review of the game.

I have to agree with SamiKewell. The live chat is a reflection of how the game is going and is a fun place to be in, at least for me. I tend to watch games alone because it's usually late at night over here when we play and the live chat makes me feel like I am watching the game with others, as sad as that sounds :')
Brighton is a good team and well-run club overall. Their goal was very well worked and they continued to take the game to us after scoring too. For the second half, I thought it was more a case of us going up a gear than them sitting back, and they just couldn't cope with that.

StEttieneAmen. I don't see a problem that the livechat was ranting at half time. We were second best in the first half, Slot said we were poor too. TAA and Macalister were awful and the halftime livechat simply reflected the performance. Not sure which pubs you watch the matches in but i imagine they would be full of people standing around at halftime saying positive and constructive comments. Or maybe not.
03 Nov 2024 04:26:33
Same as me Dracred feels communal given its late where I am and pubs with football on don’t exist. Don’t think the live chat at half time was anything other than a reflection of a dire first half from us - we could’ve been 3 or 4 down with chances they created, luckily we weren’t and we really turned it on second half. All’s well that ends well.
I did say to sub Salah… then he scored a beauty and played well. Lesson learned: never doubt Salah.
03 Nov 2024 08:03:35
For what it’s worth although I barely contributed to the live chat yesterday, I was reading a lot of it, because I couldn’t watch the game. it gave me a good pulse check of the performance, open honest passionate real time views by a group of people who love their team and football.
03 Nov 2024 08:46:42
You can say whatever you want but live chat is NOT a beautiful place and 100% nothing but a refelction of trolls throwing toys out of the pram if we don't win 5-0 every game and concede 0 shots/ chances. We are playing against ourselves see. I swear every single player have been bashed beyond oblivian on there, you can't make this nonsense up and then defend it too. Pathetic.
03 Nov 2024 09:46:18
We should do two live chats.
One for the pathetic fans and then one for the rest and they can sing hymns throughout the game spreading positivity ?.
03 Nov 2024 10:02:57
I didn't used to like the live chat but now I don't really mind it, most people just being passionate about the club. Can't blame anybody for having a good moan every now and then. I think it's got much better now there's an approved user list.
03 Nov 2024 10:08:40
You should have tried being at the game StEtienne, that was a real life tirade of rants like the chat you’re mentioning. We were woeful first half and the poorness of the performance galvanised the crowd. We turned it around and we played well second half. Are the team immune from criticism : NO.
03 Nov 2024 10:13:31
If people don't like the live chat I suggest they don't go on the live chat. It's quite simple. For me the live chat is a platform and community that I love. Having a child this year has meant my game going and pub going is limited (or non existent) and the chat is as close as i can get to watching with other fans. I may not always agree with what everyone says which is fine. Yesterday at half time there was a lot of negativity and i said i didn't think it was over. I have the chance to say I disagree if I do and you guys also do. It seems to be people who I don't see contribute to the chat complaining about it on here instead of offering positivity or counter points on the chat at the time.
Yes it can be a negative place filled with in the moment not v balanced opinions but that is just a reflection of the anxiety and passion of watching the team. For example yesterday we were getting outplayed rhe first half and arsenal had lost and city were down. It looked like we weren't going to take advantage which was frustrating and people were frustrated. The players aren't reading the chat so I don't see why members being critical or players not playing well is such a big issue. I wonder how some fans can say they are non critical as I can equate that with delusion or lack of passion.
03 Nov 2024 11:11:26
It’s pretty binary stuff isn’t it? Losing - bad, winning good. Lose - go head hunting, win - find (imagined ) faults. Rinse, repeat, ready for next match.
04 Nov 2024 09:59:40
I thought you said you went to the match on @Frode? The best of both worlds eh …. at the match and still online for the forum match day posts. Whining in stereo.
