I think Naby's issue was his fitness, and his attitude to keeping fit rather than him being a crap player. On the rare occasions he was fit, he usually played pretty well. Unfortunately, he squandered his career.

Lucas got a terrible doing at first but turned it around big time.
Hoping Darwin follows suit. Some games I look at Darwin and I think he s getting it. Keeping it simple, making the right passes.
But he can't be frustrating at times too. Very eratic.
I think he excels when he plays a simple game because his physical attributes are immense. When he tries to do too much, it goes wrong for him.
He has been good for much of this season. Last two games have seen that eratic nature show its head again on some promising break aways. But still scored.
Still some maturing to do but keep the faith ?.

Fly pelican. no way did Naby every play well for us . the odd game he done just enough n because we all hoped he would come good . we said Naby played well today. got to be the biggest flop of any player for Liverpool n that includes spit the dog Diouf.

FPF, are you preempting that Nunez is going to get pelters, just because there's a break? I've never connected the 2 personally. He divides opinion all of the time. For what it's worth, I'm not convinced, but hope he shuts me up.

Oh Davey. I love Lucas. So gutted when I read about the reason that made him to decide to retire.

You're right, Lucas did get a lot of unfair flak. Honestly, any midfielder that came in behind Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano was going to find it difficult to win our hearts. But the lad gave everything with us and clearly had a role in setting the club up to be a good host for South American players. Not to be underestimated.
I still hope Lucas finds a coaching role and our paths cross again. He has the mentality for it.

To be fair lucas got much better with age, he was brilliant in the latter seasons for us, even at cb.
Nunez is getting better and influencing the tempo also. Love the guy.

Mignolet? He got a load of abuse and his performances deserved it.
Look Darwin has come in for a lot of money on a huge wage so, please, I’m not losing any sleep over him receiving criticism.
Is the criticism accurate or is it pure hyperbole?
For me, he has an issue with being constantly offside, nothing has changed with this. In addition, he has no composure in front of goal.
These are areas of his game he needs to work on. He doesn’t need to work on causing chaos, he needs to work on being a reliable consistent member of the team. Chaos isn’t helpful for a team.
Darwin, work on your f-in game. Work on timing your runs. Work on keeping calm in front of goal. It’s not that difficult for a professional footballer. What else does he have to do?
Do that and the criticism is unwarranted.

Clearly not bashing Darwin at all with all the hyperbole you posted on there, Ron.
Chaos? That term means nothing to me and if you think Darwin has been all chaos and has not been working and improving his game overall this season then, you have been watching a version of him that exists only in your head, IMO.
@Pelican was right after all. It didn't take that long.

Chaos is what other posters praise him for - not me.
I said he needs to work on his game - specifically staying onside by timing his runs better and being calm in the box with his finishing.
If you think that’s hyperbole then you’re using a different dictionary to most.
