Away at saints was always going to be a tough day, the pressure of playing the bottom of the league with the chance to go 8 points clear at the top, the weather was horrendous but we ground out a result and it wasn’t pretty, looking at most of the comments on match posts it’s literally embarrassing coming from so many so called fans, the thing about champions is they always grind the wins out which is exactly what we are doing, what’s not to love.

Agree17 Disagree0

I’m sure this won’t go down well, but Liverpool would be the weakest title winners in a decade or more. You’ve only got to beat what’s in front of you though. Weird to think that their team that finished 2nd on 98 points or whatever it was would steamroll this side.

It’s definitely got a collapse in it, but the question is whether they get so far ahead others start looking at prioritising other competitions.

Ultimately, everything that could have gone their way has done. A trip to Old Trafford while Ten Hag was still there. Arsenal essentially deducted 4 points due to two enormously spurious red cards. Arsenal and City losing their two most important players for a significant period and having compound injuries in key positions.

But there’s more. The friendliest schedule on earth. City and Arsenal dropping points before the last international break late on because they were on their fourth consecutive away fixture in a row - no such problem for Liverpool who haven’t played two consecutive away games all season. And now they get to play City at their lowest ebb.

Sometimes it really does go for you. Got to take advantage when it does - and fair enough - they are.

Absolute nonsense Vango, I assume you don’t support Liverpool. We’re not allowed to mention any injury problems without getting significant earache and we all know that Arsenal aren’t as good as they are cracked up to be, especially given the scale of the spend since Arteta took over.

24 Nov 2024 18:26:20
Actually just noticed you claim to be a Liverpool supporter of many years. I’m not seeing much support here to be honest.

24 Nov 2024 18:33:00
Also worth noting that Liverpool played 3 away games in a row just over a month ago (Liepzig, Arsenal, Brighton) and didn’t lose any of those games. If we’re just talking league games then Wolves and Palace were consecutive away games.

24 Nov 2024 18:57:25
What an embarrassing post Vango, easy schedule, teams missing players, I’m guessing you’ve forgotten that Liverpool have no Allison in goal, there’s no way on earth you support Liverpool spouting absolute nonsense like that if you did or you’ve forgotten that every team plays each other twice regardless when you play them.

24 Nov 2024 19:09:37
i have been jumping over VANGO's posts for a while because he's obviously a troll who post absolute nonsense.

24 Nov 2024 19:15:12
Spot on, @Johnny? You're right, Vango. This did not go down well cos what you posted is full of contradictions, in my view.

24 Nov 2024 20:12:23
Vango remains a troll who is probably sniggering into his Tizer. Or he's Walter's love child.

Weakest title winners of the last decade, huh? I guess Leicester were bossing it then?

I for one am happy that we got a win. Like Oli's post a bit further up, we (and it appears City) are rubbish straight after an international break. Yet we won and they got hammered.

Very happy, thank you!

24 Nov 2024 20:28:40
To be fair some of what he's said is true. Don't get me wrong I am happy with our position but wouldn't be surprised to see us 3rd end of the season.
Allison hasn't been missed because kelleher is playing well enough to pick up wins.
An injury to Gravenburch and we're going to be in trouble similar to city.

{Ed025's Note - have a day off Wally ffs mate..

24 Nov 2024 20:45:48
Lets see how things pan out, All im saying is that everyone else is poor at the moment, and City are way off the pace.
peak Jurgen LFC would demolish the current side, and they are the benchmark.

I am cautiously optimistic, whilst remaining mindful that we may will need to improve to take the big trophies home come the end of the season.

24 Nov 2024 21:43:01
@ed 25. I thought I gave a valid comment. I know we don't see eye to eye on some things but I strongly feel that my comments are valid.
If we lose Grav were in big trouble. Obviously I don't want that.
All teams have dips arsenal have had there's city are having a mare but both teams have the capabilities to put a run of victories together.
If we have a sticky patch both those teams could push us down to third which would still be quite the achievement.

{Ed025's Note - come on Walter you are 8 points clear and at the moment no other team can even match you mate and your settling for 3rd ????, have some faith in your team my friend..

24 Nov 2024 22:15:51
Nothing would make me happier to win the league. Im just not arrogant to think we've won it already.
There's a rich history of teams including Man city and man utd clawing back bigger points deficits.
Fingers crossed we keep it up and get the title and our neighbours do well and stay in the league.

24 Nov 2024 22:18:34
Also let's not forget we lost do a decent Forest side and the Saints gave us a run for our money.
There's better teams out there that could punish us. Fingers ? they don't but for me the league isn't wrapped up yet.

24 Nov 2024 22:22:54
@Neg, we are struggling by with the best GK in the world, our star right back out injured and our starting CF out injured. To say that the team relies on one player is a little bit naive. Our coach knows what he is doing.

To be fair though if you keep saying on a weekly basis that we are going to lose you are eventually bound to be correct at some point but that doesn’t mean you will be right about why it happens.

24 Nov 2024 23:19:41
Or you could say that the standard of the league is much higher now than it was when Klopp and Pep were getting close to and more than 100 points every season.

I would definitely say that.

The bottom team can give the top team a game on their day which didn’t happen 5-6 years ago. We’ve seen the quality getting better over the last few years as even City haven’t got close to 100 points since 18/ 19 when they got 98 points. We got 99 points in 19/ 20 but since then the title winners (City) have got 86, 93, 89 and 91 points respectively.

For me this is just because you can lose or draw against anybody in the Premier League now which makes our current run all the more impressive.

Would this current team beat prime Klopp’s team? It’s a ridiculous question which will never be answered and to be quite frank I couldn’t care less.

This is this team and that was that team. We have become way more pragmatic now instead of just trying to blow teams away and it’s made us the best team in Europe right now.

Just enjoy it and stop praying for a loss so you can say you were right all along.

24 Nov 2024 23:22:44
peak Jurgen is exactly that - peak Jurgen. this is 3 months of Slot.

25 Nov 2024 00:07:04
It seems some football supporters don't actually enjoy football anymore.
Seriously, 8 points clear after 12 games with a new manager, top of the Champions league group and all you can do is moan. You see us finishing third? Just like Trent has improved his game “too little, too late”
Nothing wrong with constructive criticism but some of the comments on here are quite pathetic.

25 Nov 2024 01:32:41
Guys - Please give slot the credit he deserves.

Stop this peak Klopp, peak Pep vs current Slot comparison. It is very silly as we can never compare.

Tricky tie, we managed to win while not in top shape. Take the points and move on.

the other 19 clubs would love to be in this position.

Coming from another club and diff league, what Slot has done in the short time is highly commendable.

25 Nov 2024 06:50:45
Really haven't a clue what Walter n vango is on about. We have lost 1 game and drawn 1. Yes we have been winning by a single goal in matches but clearly could of had many more if we had a proper finisher. Mo is great but we can't always just rely on him for goals. To say we are lucky and had easy fixtures so far is a complete joke. Man u. Arsenal. Chelsea. Villa. That's 10 points out of 12. Who else apart from city haven't we played lol. Can put spurs in there but all this easy fixtures bull makes me laugh. Just look at our goal difference compared to the other teams. Just proves we are the best team in the league at this moment of time. Oh and top of the champions league so best team currently in Europe. Lucky my arse.

25 Nov 2024 07:31:28
Well this time last year Walters prediction was Liverpool finishing mid table so that says it all.
