Can't wait to read your review of this match Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - you mean have it read to you by the missus surely Bazza? We all know you can't read.}

Agree0 Disagree10

Exactly Ed001 it's the full stops that throw me and any word with more than 3 letters in it?.

24 Nov 2024 20:20:25
As someone that finds it hard to read it's never too late to learn.
Don't give up.

It just felt like “what is he waiting for” with the subs… it just seemed so obvious we needed to change it and after he finally did, we took the game away from them.

Hi Ed, really curious on your view on Robertson, would you keep him going into next season, doesn't feel like we a position we have much cover in! probably a priority for next season for me!

{Ed001's Note - I love Robbo but he is struggling badly. I think I would look to replace him in the summer - unless Beck is seen as the answer (or someone else coming through), in which case it would be worth keeping him to ease them in and help them in training.}

24 Nov 2024 21:13:11
At 30 years old, surely Robbo has plenty left in the tank, and this is just a period of poor form and consistency. He has however been absolutely rinsed by Klopp's machine, which seems to take years off players legs.

He will be back to his best at some point, although due to Slots tactics, it may have to be elsewhere.

Chambers would be perfect in our system if he can step up to the required level after he returns from loan. He can play LB, CB and LM due to his technical ability and defensive qualities. With the way Robbo is playing, his skill set seems perfect. However it’s a huge step up from the Football League to the Prem. A step that’s often too big. Fingers crossed, cus like Bradley, Quansah etc he could save us big bucks.

It was a foul due to his slow reactions. but why is more not being made of the decision to give a penalty. The replays did not show it was in the box. If his foot is not touching the line (as replay couldn't show) then is that not evidence it was in the box. So why uphold the decision. it looked outside the box. replays showed it was outside box. ?
Just imagine if that was at the other end? Big club decision I hear.
Ollie Watkins dive is called controversial penalty decision. yet this is just accepted? At least try and adopt the same standards.
Whilst I'm on my high horse. Lallana tackle. did they actually review it? All clubs will give examples of lesser challenges being pulled up.
Oliver normally likes it to be about him, but maybe he just a coote.

Thank you Walter your support means a lot to me?.

24 Nov 2024 22:58:08
I thought it looked outside the box too sirshanks but I have to confess I’m not completely sure of the ruling.

Robbo’s foot was planted and possibly was touching the line. The attacker was outside the box and not anywhere near the line.

Where is the foul deemed to have occurred? Is it from the outside edge of Robbo’s foot as that’s the foot he fouled with which was arguably touching the line? Or is it where the contact occurred which was undoubtably outside the box?

It was a huge decision as it gave them a foothold in the game so it would be interesting to hear how they came to that decision.

But you know they’ll just say ‘referee’s call’ as it gives them as easy way out.

24 Nov 2024 23:17:21
ref called pen, and then I guess from there it needs to be clear on review that it was outside. I thought it was close so was ok with it but chuckled a bit at the explanation.

Thought Robbo was alright.

Not a criticism but was having a laugh watching Bradley working his ar*e off to cover ground for their second goal. He's busting a gut like an 8 year old just running to where the ball is going, meanwhile leaving acres of space behind him lol. Could have prevented the goal had he just jogged back in a straight line down the middle of the field to the top of the box :D.

I wonder if we have any interest in 18 year old left-footed right-winger 18 Tyler Dibling? Thought he was outstanding today.

25 Nov 2024 00:04:28
The reasoning they have for the penalty was that contact may have started outside the box but they weren't certain if it continued until inside the box. So they didn't overturn the decision by the onfield ref.

Tbh, I wasn't sure if this is an actual ruling tbh. But no doubt the mistake was Robertson's. There was no need to lunge in there. Should have just slowed him down and ushered him out wide while the rest of the defence recovers.

25 Nov 2024 01:12:50
This Tyler Dibling was their best.

The tall 32 striker showed good fancy foot work but nothing much else.

One of the defender had good ball carrying skill but nothing else.

Jones is a confused merchant. He himself is not sure what he is doing with ball and that helps as the opposition is also kept guessing as us. ?.

25 Nov 2024 02:32:00
The classic "there was no conlusive evidence that the referee had made a clear and obvious error" has been used and posted on twatter.

In other words, "we can't decide if the ref has mucked it up, so go ahead and continue playing, and let us get back to our coffee, it's cold and chilly out here" .

25 Nov 2024 04:58:28
We should actually be thankful that VAR, or the clowns operating it, are as inept and clueless AF.

Their pen will be debatable, then they wave away the Armstrong one, which I thought was a clear pen as Kelli wipes him out without touching the ball.

You win some. You lose some.

Things would've been very different had the Armstrong one been given.

25 Nov 2024 07:08:11
I actually thought it was a pen, by the rules regarding VAR anyway. It was so touch and go I actually think VAR did the right thing by not getting involved. Looking at positions of the feet, I would be pretty annoyed if that wasn't given for us.

25 Nov 2024 07:37:39
It looked like his big toe was on the line but it was that marginal that once the ref gave it then it wasn’t going to be overturned.

25 Nov 2024 08:22:43
It was actually a foul on Robbo.
The ball is going away from the attacker, either due to a poor touch from him or Robbo just nicking it away, the attacker then studs Robbo halfway up his shin.
Of course Oliver gives the penalty.

25 Nov 2024 10:24:38
Penalty was inconclusive even with VAR looking at it?

In rugby, with bodies all around they can tell if the ball is grounded for a try. This is down to many camera angles and competent referees. P/ L need to catch up.
