So what does everyone think about those Salah comments?
Is it a negotiation tactic driven by his agent or is it a serious warning for the likes of Hughes and Edwards?

So much for all the nonsense we were hearing about them in talks for ages about a new contract. God knows what's going on behind the scenes, hopefully something can be done.
It now makes me wonder now if we've offered one to Trent and VVD, or like Salah, not offered them anything?

It’s clearly driving Salah on so I don’t mind. If we win the league it will be a nice send off and hopefully knowing it’s his last year as well as potentially Trent and Virg will drive them on to do it.
Think about next year after that - of course it’s a shambles but if we win the league would it be worth losing them all? I’d say so in my opinion. I’d happily take a rebuild and us finishing 4th even 5th next year if we won the league again.

Discussion happening are different to a contract being offered
My honest thoughts - Mo should have better answers. That’s a nice way of saying Mo should just be quiet. It’s not our way to be airing things out in public like that.

@Mango personally I don't think we've not been in negotiations with Salah and his agent but I'm wondering if that it's just been verbal offers so far and this could be an attempt from Salah to get an actual written offer and progress the negotiations.

I cannot truly believe that there is no negotiations going on at all.
I have said on another post, surely the discussions are being had with his representatives however, the club haven't put anything on the table that they feel worthy of putting in front of Mo.

There's a difference between negotiations and an offer. I very much doubt Salah is involved in negotiating in anyway, this will all be done by his agent. He is likely right in saying he hasn't had an offer as they're still negotiating at this point and the offer will be made once his agent and the club come to some sort of agreement, at which point the decision will be put to the player.

He hasn’t received a contract offer but that doesn’t mean negotiations aren’t happening. I’d imagine both parties will want the contract to benefit them and so there will be a lot of backwards and forwards until they agree.
The positive for me is that he sounds like he wants to stay and he’s playing well so this actually gives me more hope that something can be done.

There are definitely ongoing negotiations just no piece of paper to sign as of yet. I suspect that the paperwork will only be drawn up once they have some kind of agreement in principle or at least some kind of mutual acknowledgement of what all parties need out of the agreement.

I hope they get the contracts sorted out soon for both him and VVD - we were chatting on the live chat about those two and how they are vital to this team - we are just not the same without those two playing, and playing at the level they are at is hard to replace/ replicate
I think both want to stay, both seem very happy at Liverpool and, let's face it, Salah could break nearly every goal scoring record Liverpool, and even the League, have if he stays another few seasons - the guy's numbers are insane every single season
I think we all really want Trent to stay too, he's a local lad and been playing very well this season under Slot - just, is Real too tempting? I hope not and hope he stays too, team is looking very good so far this season.

Salah he did not say that nothing is happening you are putting words in his mouth.
What he actually said was ‘Well, we are almost in December and I haven't received any offers yet to stay in the club’.
That does not mean that negotiations aren’t happening.
There are 2 scenarios here. Either the club just doesn’t want him to stay and so won’t offer him a new contract or him and his agent are asking for something that the club won’t give him.
I’d lean towards the latter but time will tell.

I think he’s gone and I don’t think he ever intended to re-sign.
I think he’s playing the fans, putting the blame on the club to protect his reputation.
Players shouldn’t talk about contracts in public, that includes Virg, Trent, Salah, whoever.
