On Salah, my take is that the club may be in the stronger position.
Sure Salah can go to Saudi and get 400k per week but where else will he get that? Or at least where else will he get that for a club that wants to win the big prizes (Champions league/ league in Spain) . Its ego (needs) v cash (wants) and I don't think Salah is done with winning big. So its who blinks first - Liverpool want him there but not for 3 years at 400k per week for a 32year old. My guess is he will stay for big money for a short stay rather than smaller money for a longer stay. He needs the big wins/ trophies more than the money - even though he wants of believes he deserves the money. Needs over wants and that is what the club may be banking on.

Don’t see how the club in stronger position. If Salah leaves they have to replace. Who’s available that would hit the ground running and match his input?

{Ed025's Note - Jack Harrison?.. :)

Salah has been phenomenal for us but you’ll be disappointed if you expect us to sign a ‘replacement’. There’s no one in the world that could come in and be what Salah is or has been for us.

The team will just have to shift focus and others will have their chance to shine.

That’s what the best managers and teams do.

Beckers pecker, how can you say that? When we signed salah you have to be honest it was a little bit underwhelming to say the least, who would have thought he would have had that impact! same as gravenberch this season who’s been absolutely phenomenal and the majority of fans thought he should of been moved on and had no future with the club.

Ah ed 25 we would never deprive you of such an important and impactful player.

{Ed025's Note - honestly Mic its no trouble, hes left footed and plays on the right wing mate...remind you of anyone?.. :)

Jack Harrison made me laugh out loud Ed25. Nice start to my day here in sunny Sydney ??.

{Ed025's Note - im just trying to find the new Salah WDW but i dont think i have made a very good start, enjoy the sunshine mate..

Jack Harrison?.

I don’t get your point Jaydee.

Do you think that if Salah leaves we will just go out and sign another left footed right winger that will be exactly the same as Salah and we’ll just carry on as normal?

We might sign another right winger but it’s highly doubtful he’ll be another Salah. He might be a good player but Salah has been much more than that.

That then gives the likes of Gakpo, Diaz, Nunez a chance to be the main man.

Or maybe we end up more like Arsenal and a midfielder like Grav, Macca, Jones or Szob can step up to be the new ‘irreplaceable’.

If you try to replace a world class player like for like you will invariably be disappointed.

And for the record I was asking for us to sign Salah when he signed for Chelsea and I was one of the few who was saying what a great player Grav would become (and I was ridiculed for it) . So no I don’t think Salah was an underwhelming signing and I’m not surprised about how good Grav is either.

I just think the computer game age has made people try to simplify things a bit too much. Like you lose a right winger so you just sign another and the team doesn’t change.

In reality if Salah goes the whole team dynamic will change and we will probably play differently which then gives other players the chance to show what they can do. It’s just how football works. You play with what you have and right now we have the best goal scoring right winger the Premier League has ever seen so we use him.

Your efforts in searching out a world class replacement for us won’t go unnoticed noticed Ed ?.

@BP, good post except for the choice of players to step up and be the main man. Quite a few would have to leave for it to be Darwin.

BP- we’re completely on the same page pal, having reread your post I had initially misread/ not read or completely misinterpreted what you wrote, I couldn’t agree more.
