Salah is single handle carrying our attack. He is 32 but competing with Yasmine Lamar for the best RW in Europe today. That’s Blon D Or Performances.
Signed a hospital in Chiesa to rest Salah and complete opposite is happening today
Yet we are not supposed not to criticize Hughes, Ward and Edwards.

Slot is helpless, he is being set up to fail. Zero backing.

Tbh thought slot should have bought on Endo. We seem to get outbattled in the midfield at times this season and lack of bit of steel. Good result after being down twice but should have seen it out. Poor from Kelleher.

Thought CBs were awful today, backing off constantly, imagine Isak in our side instead of Nunez. He laughs when he misses but in all seriousness he imo cost us the league last year with all the chances he missed in key games and could do the same this year if he doesn’t buck up his ideas.

Apparently once Salah leaves our other forwards will just score the goals he does.

05 Dec 2024 07:44:12
Not sure about that @JK. But we shall definitely #SaveWages.

I’m loathe to criticize the players too much, but I think sooner or later absences of key players like Alisson, Konate, and Jota, begin to be noticed. That’s the first game in which I felt the result would’ve been significantly different with Alisson and Konate on the pitch. I don’t think we would’ve played any better, but I think two of their goals just aren’t scored with Alisson and Konate in the team.

I’ve said it before, and I know it won’t happen, but if Nunez or Jota left Isak would be a fantastic replacement.

I agree with seano. Allison saves both the first and third goals. Both were the result of poor keeping.

Slot is being set up to fail while being clear leaders of the Prem and top of Europe.
Poor Harry, he just can't help himself.

Seano - 100%.
Games at Anfield take care of themselves. In the Premier League, however, you need your best players for away games. Away games are HARD, and only the best 3 or 4 teams in the league regularly win them.
Without Alisson and Konate, we go from a 0-2 hard-earned win to a 2-2 basketball match. It wasn't just yesterday; we've conceded 7 goals over our last 3 away games, when before that (with our best team fit) it was 1 in 3.
Kelleher has served us well overall, but Alisson comes immediately back in the team.

As always Flash cheers for your daily input to the group.

Am going to start with an apology to the fans that don’t like to criticise players but am so here we go.
I know he is a fan favourite but I’ve lost it with nunez he can’t finish in an open goal. Late sliding in for an easy tap in, he has no composure at all in front of goal. loads of energy but that’s just not enough! Joe Gomez is a fan favourite and been with the club the longest but he is far from my favourite. He has alway had a mistake in him and last night just proves it. Yes he can have a good game like the city game then turns into a Sunday league player against Newcastle. He doesn’t suit playing out from the back and needs upgradeing ASAP!

To be fair, as Slot said recently it is a bad time to just have 5 defenders. I didn’t think he was joking.

Our starting back 5 is

Ali, TAA, Ibou, VVD and Robbo.

We started what’s always going to be one of the harder away games of the season with

CK, Quansah, Gomez, VVD and Robbo

We’ve just come off back to back wins over the CL Champions and PL champions.

It was never going to be as Tripoli in the park. We didn’t play anywhere near our best but we did show that anyone who beats us this season is going to have to really work very, very hard to earn the win. Coming from behind twice and only giving up the lead in the last minute of not all time can’t really be faulted for heart and effort. Pee’d of we couldn’t make it another legendary 4 - 3 in injury time but, as the man said, “You can’t always get what you want …”.

05 Dec 2024 09:23:08
Didn't Edwards and Ward have something to do with Salah signing for us? I also believe that Hughes gave us advice about signing Salah and Alisson.

Ed02 would have reply to tell everyone to ignore and he is a troll.

WT eff with that hashtag?

Seano_, I agree with you in part. The injuries and fixture congestion are going to tell in this period. That's what what it is. And some i the injuries are just weird. Endrick falls on Konate and Tosin falls on Jota and both are out for weeks. How do you guard against that? You can't. We just have to grit our teeth and get thru this period. Endo needs to start getting game time, IMO.

Now after all this, I fully love the fact that at no point were we ever out of that game even when we went behind. Our boys showed grit and determination all game long even tho, it was not perfect. This is a testament to their mentality of never giving up and even tho Salah will get the plaudits, the whole team including the subs, showed great mental toughness all game. We will be VERY hard to beat this season, IMO.

People keep saying they’d take isak over Nunez any day but would isak have helped us win the penalty against city getting stuck in the other night? Would isak make challenges in his own box or drop into midfield to help make up the numbers off the ball? If we were to buy a number 9 that would become the focal point of the attack that would be displacing mo from his present role, so that’s also something worth thinking about. I don’t want to say that Nunez should be excused for missing chances (even though all forwards miss chances, isak misses lots too) but he has the spirit and drive to play for this team, and his link up play tends to be much better than we saw last night. I’m hoping he has a breakout game in the next few, people are acting like he was the reason we lost last night and that just doesn’t seem fair to me.

{Ed001's Note - more to the point, Isak would only replace Jota in the injury room. For all his ability, Isak is injury prone and has to be wrapped up in cotton wool to play at all.}

We didn't lose last night, PB.
Nunez was very poor though. I expect players to work hard and Nunez should be commended for that but I also expect a lot more from a number 9.

Yasmine Lamar ?.

All players have mistakes in them Longthing. What you’re looking for is a unicorn.

No matter what players we have there will always be those that think some are not good enough. I’m sure that all teams have their own fans criticising their own players because some people are very unrealistic and never happy.

We have a great squad. Probably the best in the league and the fact that we can miss Ali, Konate, Jota, Trent, Bradley and Tsimikas yet still be 7pts clear and compete against the best teams is proof of that.

City lost Rodri and collapsed, Arsenal lost Odegaard and collapsed. I don’t think there is one player in our team that would cause such collapses. Yes we’d be a worse team without VVD, Salah or Grav but we’d still get results if Quansah, Endo and Diaz played in place of them.

We should all just relax, the squad is good enough. We’ve got this.
