I know this may sound crazy, but I had a bad feeling about going to Everton after they've just won and we've just lost, on a stormy day, and with key injuries. I'm glad it got called off.
{Ed001's Note - we just lost? When?}

Unbelievable some people
Up the pool.

To be honest I think it’s in our favour for the game to be called off - mentally we were off the pace against Newcastle and Everton would have been up for it. Works to our advantage to have a but of a breather and to reset mentally.

It felt like a loss. I'm sure Adam will be told to give his head a wobble.

Mate the last game we lost was in September lol.
07 Dec 2024 10:48:47
I did think we’d win today but I was concerned about playing in a storm. There’s no doubt high winds are a leveller, anyone who’s ever tried to play in high winds will know what I mean.
On the downside it gives Arsenal and Chelsea the chance to close the gap to 4pts which in turn gives the media the chance to tell the world how we’ve bottled it and gone from 9pts to 4pts in a week.

What are people eating for breakfast nowadays because clearly the brain cells are still dormant? Unbelievable.

WDW3, I agree that the game being called off advatages us immensely. Nox we have a lot more rest time esp with the Girona game a near dead rubber in midweek where we can make some changes.
As for the @Adam's comment and Im channeling my inner John W Henry here, "What type of stuff did he have this morning? "

The game being called off today makes a massive difference. Gives Slot and the players some much needed recovery room. We should win all our remaining PL games left in December now.

If the weather was too bad at Goodison why didn’t they just reverse the fixture to Anfield.
Unbelievable.
07 Dec 2024 13:33:11
Oops! I made a mistake there. My subconscious has been telling me since Weds that it felt like a loss due to the last goal.

@West Derby Wonderer
That's exactly what I was trying to convey. Last time I post on here after a late night ?.
07 Dec 2024 13:56:22
Definitely needed a rest. Injuries have caught up with the squad.
Hopefully one of the three chasing us drop some points. Can’t see it but you never know.

I've only played at the highest level in strong winds; and negotiated new contracts at half time, of course.
Do you think the media will do that, BP? If people believe that drawing away at Newcastle and having a game postponed is bottling it then that's not the media's fault.
They should give their heads a wobble.
07 Dec 2024 17:07:50
Of course they will Rigsby. Anything for a headline.
Everyone knows it’s all bull but since when did the truth come before a good story?
Anyway, I’m off to negotiate a couple of contracts before tea.
07 Dec 2024 17:16:25
Maybe I'm giving the media too much credit, BP.
I can't say I would have been disappointed to read those headlines before the season started though.
07 Dec 2024 18:00:34
And I’m probably exaggerating with the bottled it bit but they’ll certainly make a lot of the ‘reduced from 9pts to 4pts’ part.
You should never give the media any credit mate they’ll say anything to sell papers/ get clicks.
07 Dec 2024 18:28:44
Oh aye, I can see the lead being whittled down from nine to four points stories but I'd have to take it as a positive. Perspectives change throughout a season though. I never thought we'd be nine points clear but I didn't see City and Arsenal starting the way they have.
I try to look at the bigger picture rather than the weekend's headlines.

Good point for Citeh at Palace.
