I just feeling the jitters about ManU game, never have we been in such dominant position coming into manU game, that spells Complacency, the same thing that happened vs Forest.

Agree3 Disagree0

Was Forest complacency or poor tactics by slot getting bullied in midfield. I think he's learnt many lessons this season and there's is no reason we shouldn't wipe Utd, they are as awful as they've been in the PL history, just a shockingly bad outfit 1 to 11.

The closest to now, in terms of United's lack of mentality and ability to put up a fight was when Rangnick brought United to Anfield and we just smacked them.

The only worry I have is if Amorim drops the back 3 and packs his midfield. That's the only way I think they could frustrate us.

Nottingham forest, the team that showed we wasn't contenders as everyone knew they'd be fighting for relegation, the team we couldn't beat that was yet another example of how we hadn't played a decent team yet.

02 Jan 2025 15:14:53
Bring Utd on, they'll do nothing and we'll deal with them easily, no concerns here.

02 Jan 2025 15:41:41
The only reason I don't think we'll score double figures is because at some point whilst we're racking goals up, Slot will tell the lads to preserve their energy and play keep ball like we did against Spurs. The difference being that Spurs had players who are actually decent going forward and can hurt any team. We've been putting 3-6 goals past teams in recent weeks (we put 2 past Fulham with 10 men) and United will be very lucky if they keep our score below 6 in my opinion. It's okay for us as fans to be over confident and complacent because our players will not be. We've got far too much leadership and experience in the team for that to happen against United. With that in mind, I think it's going to be quite ugly for them.

In terms of complacency, it should be pretty simple for Slot. Show the players the 0-0 game last season when we were expected to thrash them and couldn't score. Hopefully that should sharpen minds.

If my memory serves me correctly, for this fixture last season, Curtis was not quite fit to start and MacAllister and Jota were both out. Szobo had probably the worst game of his life whereby he literally couldn't control the ball and the team were taking wild pot shots.

We are a different beast now. And they have a very different system.

If we believed Leek’s jitters every time, we’d currently be bottom of the table.

‘Mystic Leek’ ???.

02 Jan 2025 16:00:47
For me winning 1-0, no injuries, this will be good enough. 1 game at a time.

02 Jan 2025 16:15:01
It's going to be a cricket score Leek.

02 Jan 2025 16:32:04
Why are our fans still scared of Manchester United? We've beaten them 4-2, 5-0, 4-0, 7-0 and 3-0 this decade. Grow a pair!

02 Jan 2025 16:36:03
amorim won't change his approach, but at least he won't play zirkzee as a free roaming forward expected to drop into midfield to help out the oldest and slowest double pivot in europe. The only way united can get a result is to park the bus and use garnacho and diallo on the counter attack, which he obviously won't do. He also needs to play somebody like collyer in there. and not eriksen/ casemiro.

The problem with united is the players look lost and as a result end up caught out of position with huge spaces between them, whether this is because of lack of training or lack of clear instructions or both it doesn't look like it's going away because the team aren't even doing basic things properly, let alone the complicated stuff that amorim is asking them to do. I don't want us to get ahead of ourselves but if you really think a team like that has a good chance of beating a team where every player knows their job inside out and will bust a gut for their team mates then you're either a troll or don't have much of a clue.

02 Jan 2025 16:43:17
Agree Salah, Utd are very poor and will not have the structure or capability to handle our press and pace. 3-0 to us, maybe 4-1. We do tend to switch off a bit after we get a significant lead, although we usually go on to score again when we concede in those situations. The Forrest loss doesn’t seem so bad now does it? Look at where they are and what they’ve done, we might have conceivably lost to the pl runner ups. What a season they are having, Cloughie would be very proud.

02 Jan 2025 16:51:09
Of course Leek has jitters - he's a Man U fan isn't he?

02 Jan 2025 16:53:57
Could go one of two ways. Either a 0-0 bore draw because they’re playing with their backs to the wall and sticking ten men in defence, or we absolutely batter them. Feast or famine. The way that our forwards are playing, Onana better start practicing picking the ball out the net.

02 Jan 2025 17:05:11
All day long I’m going Itandje over Jones. Itandje was a terrible keeper and an even worse person, Jones had lots going on with his kids health. So I don’t think it’s fair to be harsh on him.

Keeper, Itandje. Not even close.

Left back, definitely Konchesky. Julian Dicks was unlucky to miss out.

Centre backs? Torben Piechnik and Bjorn Tore Kvarme. Both absolutely pants. Hopeless the pair of them.

Right back, Phillip Degen. He was awful. And injury prone.

Midfield, Poulson, Joe Cole, Joe Allen. They’d have delusions of adequacy that lot. Paul Ince and Arthur Melo just missing out.

Up front, Diouff, Balotelli and Jovanovic.

02 Jan 2025 17:36:01
You clearly don't remember Joe Allen under Klopp then, Viktor. He did alright and then we sold him for a decent fee to Stoke.

02 Jan 2025 17:38:45
Cheyrou - that was it.

02 Jan 2025 19:57:48
It will be like last year when everyone showed up expecting 7-0 again then when there wasnt a goal in the first 20 mins the stadium started groaning and being frustrated. An early goal is needed.

02 Jan 2025 20:14:23
I’m nervous It’s similar situation to last season us flying and them struggling and now they probably got rashford raring to get a start and prove a point.

03 Jan 2025 00:02:01
Paul Stewart has to be in there he was utter dross.

03 Jan 2025 00:18:19
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t beat them by more than 3 goals.
