I can see this game being called off, won’t help with the fixture list!
05 Jan 2025 10:16:47
JL airport. Runway opens again at 10:15am so no problem there.
05 Jan 2025 10:19:16
Looking at the amount of snow, I can’t see that it should be cancelled. World’s gone soft if it is.
05 Jan 2025 10:25:51
Lads, my best mate and his youngster are sitting in Belfast airport. Their flight was at 7am but they're still waiting to board. Delayed till 11am apparently. If anybody has any news, could you bang it up here coz er not gony board if the games called off.
05 Jan 2025 10:27:31
I agree Viktor. seems man utd are doing all they can to get it called off ??.
05 Jan 2025 10:32:03
They've now been delayed till midday. Tho they actually fly into Manchester he's just told me.
05 Jan 2025 10:39:48
They'll still be watering the pitch.
05 Jan 2025 10:45:57
It’ll be fine I think.

I reside in Woolton on the Hill, a district in Liverpool the snow was circa 8 centimetres/ three inches early in the morning, the only good news is that the snow is thawing "RAPIDLY" and if the Sun came out (grey skies presently) it would be well gone by Kick Off time, as all the roads when i went for the sunday papers were all cleared as the gritters were out overnight several times, the main roads are safe just a lot of slush at the sides.
Merseyrail has the John Wayne's running ( good service is quoted) on the two main Northern and Wirral lines, the buses are running normally but the John Wayne/ Bus are reduced to their Sunday timetables, which is circa half running anyway.
The Weather forecast is an Amber Warning but not for Snow but Heavy Rainfall so the temperaure will increase hence the melting snow, will be amazed if its cancelled particularly with the rapid melting of the Snow, if the Sun came out a ground inspection would be a waste of time in my opinion, but of course do your own research and usual caveats apply.

What is going on peeps
Surely not another LFC postponed game ????.
05 Jan 2025 11:25:40
Good update, 007, thanks for that. I unfortunately won't be there as I missed out on a ticket. Gutted. I know JK23 is there, so enjoy the game, mate.
05 Jan 2025 11:26:32
We’ve got undersoil hearing Rome, pitch won’t need watering. Just get some grit down outside and get on with it.
{Ed025's Note - they are actually watering it with hot water VV..

Quick Update:
All Wirral Line Trains are crossing normally under the river mersey, but are terminating/ restarting at James Street which is the first rail station after crossing the river mersey.
The 917 fast football bus shuttle by Lime Street Station is running normally from one o'clock straight to Anfield (does not stop, once your on the bus till Anfield) think the fare is two pounds one way, it is easily recognised where it starts from as there is a 90 foot tower of Nelson, i think its Nelson? directly over the road from the Bus Stop and right by St Georges Hall as well.
A good sign was the pitch/ stadium inspection being put back all the time as that is a pointer to the doubts/ weather improving and optimism also. Manchester Airport as above is open, John Lennon Airport (Liverpools Airport) is open normally as well.
The Sun is letting us down today, just like the past one could say.
Man Utd have failed to score at Anfield in their last five visits, hoping that goes to Six after today!

GAME ON!
05 Jan 2025 12:01:26
Game ON peeps ??.
05 Jan 2025 12:29:55
Hello Rome 1977, Sadly I have a watching brief now, as I posted last year, when Sir Jurgen left I also left, and also with being 70 this February, Mrs Bond was most, most concerned about my safety getting to the games, and returning home sometimes around midnight for night games, so alas her worries have to come first for an easy life, gutted will miss out on the "Slot Empire" and pray he is well supported with transfer funds in every transfer window, which credit to the Club Arne did buy our new goalkeeper last summer transfer window for circa £35 Million from Valencia.
I will still send me one and six though?
05 Jan 2025 12:35:14
Why are the trains stopping at James St? There can't snow on the line on the loop. If it's industrial/ maintenance, then that really is stupid when they know there's a match on.
05 Jan 2025 12:46:26
"AM-O-RIMN" just been seen passing the sick buckets around!

Hello Cooler than the Fonz, Terminating and Starting at James Street because they can't get to Liverpool Central due to a track fault, Merseyrail website also saying hopefully it will be cleared at two.
Because the Wirral Line Services all go under the River Mersey, its not on the same railway line level as the Northern Line, that's why whatever Merseyrail Underground Station you go from in Liverpool Town Centre (James Street, Moorfields, Lime Street Lower level and Central) you have to go down two sets of escalators, The Northern Line is only one set of escalators to travel down, because you don't go under the Mersey, it will be worth it today though for a bit of disruption.
