What is going on with Federico Chiesa surely he should be starting this game. If there is something going where he is leaving this January why have him on the bench for the last two games. I find this one very strange think if we get his match fitness up he can offer a lot in the second half of the season.

long term injury, built on glass foundations. needs a bit more time to get his body ready.
But in saying that, it's not a good look or offering much hope if a child is starting ahead of him at home in a cup gave vs League 2 opponents.
11 Jan 2025 11:58:58
He's never making it at Liverpool mate. 150k per week on what? he's done nothing. How long does it take to get match fit? Ward buggering about with the contracts and goes and gives this lad 150k a week lol you can't make this stuff up.
11 Jan 2025 12:02:12
I asked on the live chat. and will ask here as well, how did Chiesa pass our medical?
11 Jan 2025 12:07:16
The injury prone player that we signed injured, been injured all season, is injured.
11 Jan 2025 12:11:12
I see him basically being another Arthur. It's hard to see a situation where it works out if he's not fit enough to play against a league two side.
11 Jan 2025 12:13:42
Slot is taking revenge on the board and I can’t love him more. The fans are p. poor anyways so slot has taken the charge.
11 Jan 2025 12:14:00
Probably off to Napoli so psg can sign Kvaratskhelia . Another masterclass by hughes.
11 Jan 2025 12:15:03
Chiesa has been ill this week otherwise he would have started.
11 Jan 2025 12:15:28
It can take Chiesa the full season and next pre-season to get himself ready.
11 Jan 2025 12:22:50
JLC, that question looms large at this time, sadly.
11 Jan 2025 12:39:52
Exactly JLC.
11 Jan 2025 12:40:51
I thought he looked ok in that last cup game he started. I would rather him have started today ahead of Nunez.
11 Jan 2025 13:18:12
We should saved the money gave it to Trent and alls good in the world.
11 Jan 2025 13:24:03
loving all the conjecture based evidence lol.
11 Jan 2025 13:27:55
Sell him before he becomes unsellable.
11 Jan 2025 14:06:18
This thread hasn't aged well. Chiesa has been really good since coming on.
Clearly there was a plan to get minutes in Slobz legs today.
11 Jan 2025 14:07:38
Good goal.
11 Jan 2025 14:11:14
Played and scored. Another 2 or 3 goals and he’ll be ahead of young Darwin in the goal scoring chart.
11 Jan 2025 14:13:10
Well he scored today and I do really hope he proves me wrong lol.
11 Jan 2025 14:16:52
Good goal, Federico Chiesa. Solid half from him, plenty of endeavour and his name on the scoresheet.
Now, who’s the next player to be cut to ribbons on here?
11 Jan 2025 14:17:47
I honestly think he will be a great signing for us. Give the fella time, he’s on a four five year contract, not a six month one.
11 Jan 2025 14:24:18
Hey Salah, you feel any differently after that display? He looked great to me, could have had a hat trick, admittedly poor opposition, but his reading of the game and the space he found was great. Personally I think it’s just a very long time to get him fit and firing, if he can stay fit I think he’ll fly in the coming months.
11 Jan 2025 14:38:11
Great goal ????.
11 Jan 2025 14:42:28
I thought he looked good today when he came on and took his goal well.
At least wait until the end of the match before hammering him lads?
11 Jan 2025 14:55:12
Hoody, no I don't feel any different mate because it was against Accrington. I hope you are right mate but I just can't see it.
11 Jan 2025 15:09:12
Heard the commentator say chiesa had fever this week.
11 Jan 2025 15:27:20
Enrico is an experienced pro who is anything but flustered on the pitch. When fit he is as good as it gets for a football player he has everything absolutely everything except for the ability to avoid injury and stay fit. If he could stay fit he is a 50 million plus player and would be a great asset in the team starting or from the bench. I was happier for his goal than Jayden’s but at the same time elated for them both. Could both push for a first team place if the stars align.
11 Jan 2025 15:32:03
Livebird031, Slot said last week already that Chiesa was struggling with illness during the same time Szobo was out sick.
As for the game itself, got the job done, got minutes in the legs and no injuries. On to Forrest.
11 Jan 2025 15:32:35
Ah shoot I called Federico his father’s name Enrico but have been on the Heineken and I used to buy his dad on champ manager back in the day. My bad. Really hoping he stays and stays fit. A proper baller!
11 Jan 2025 17:00:18
Sorry olired. I didn't read that presser. Actually that euro chiesa was so good, and with ed01 also saying he wanted him to replace mo (before his acl) and ed01 is almost always spot on in tactics, identifying who would work best for us, and me personally liking him was so happy when he signed for us. I definitely want to see him more and giving rest for our forward line when 60+ mins are done for example. Also Danns has to get game time. He's been amazing for us so far. If im not wrong 3 goals in under 100 mins or so is very mo like ?.
11 Jan 2025 19:10:06
Oh, no prob. Liverbird1. Just adding more info to the one you posted. On Federico (or his dad Enrico, lol), I have followed that kid's progression since I knew he was Enrico's son. I wanted him back then even tho, I knew it would never happen due to how much he would cost. Like you, I thought he was special.
In fact, he was rated a 100M player before he tore his ACL. I don't know how someone who tore his ACL can be injury prone or made of glass BUT that is the nonsense we have to deal with some of our fans. Is VVD made of class now cos he tore his ACL? Yeah, me neither.
Like you, I was happy he signed for us if only to see him play for us which was my pet dream at the time. Whatever happens, we will all be fere to see it BUT still chuffed to bits he played well today and scored. Immense footballer, with great mentality, determination and desire to succeed. You know, just like Enrico, lol.
11 Jan 2025 19:10:56
Oh, and I love Danns, too. I love all our young players regardless of whatever they become with us or elsewhere.
