Right lad's a question for you all (Ed's included) Out of Elliott and MacAlister which one do we KEEP. I will start with Elliott?.

{Ed001's Note - Elliott all day long.}

Agree6 Disagree8

14 Jan 2025 17:27:41
Mac Allister, all day long.

14 Jan 2025 17:34:51
MacAllister, for me.
There's not a great deal between them but Mac is the better footballer, technically.

14 Jan 2025 17:41:23
No contest, Macallister all day long.

14 Jan 2025 17:47:40
I wouldn't ever want to lose Elliott, he is a captain material for me and one for the future. For this hypothetical situation, I would keep Mac.

14 Jan 2025 17:53:34
Do you not think lad's that Bruno MacAlister is a crying little whinge bag, always hitting the ground far to easily?

{Ed025's Note - he is a big tart Barry but also skillful, Harvey is young and has good potential but has proved nothing yet, Mac for me..

14 Jan 2025 17:55:26
MacAlister Is the best midfielder we have in my opinion and are lucky to have him. I think his performances drop sometimes because he is over used and it’s a big drop off in quality when we do rest him.
When he is in form he purrs. I don’t like the play acting from him sometimes, but other than that I think he is quality.

14 Jan 2025 18:02:28
I’d keep MacAllister and Elliott, but move on Jones as he’s too hit and miss, but mostly miss.

14 Jan 2025 18:15:35
Ed025 he does my bickie in when I see him going down quicker than a floozy on Mathew street?.

{Ed025's Note - i dont like it either Barry, but for betterment of the team i would pick Macca because of his skill set mate..

14 Jan 2025 18:20:42
Macca for me ?.

14 Jan 2025 18:24:14
Is this a joke ? Elliot is struggling massively in Slots team, he doesn’t even have a position.

{Ed001's Note - he was playing well in midfield before picking up an injury in pre-season. Since he returned, with the team playing well, he has not had a look in, so how can he be 'struggling massively'? To call it a joke, just makes your opinion look worthless and ignorant.}

14 Jan 2025 18:28:33
Macca for sure.

14 Jan 2025 18:40:46
Keep both!
Macca apparently wants to go one day soon so Harvey replaces him when he does.
Really want to see Harvey getting minutes in Doms position, that number 10 role seems perfect for him, he’s totally wasted out on the right.

14 Jan 2025 18:44:33
My heart would say Elliot, fan, HG and huge potential, plus I do like a lefty like myself. But thinking ruthless efficienvy as I imagine Slot will, has to be Macca.
I wouldn't want us to lose any of our midfielders though and I don't think we will. On the basis of having two players for each position I think there room for them all. Only addition for me would be another Gravenberch type player to rotate with him. Slot clearly doesn't fancy Endoz unless he's going to be a stand in CB for a couple more years.

14 Jan 2025 18:51:34
Don’t really matter what we think Ed. Slot will get rid of him anyway.

14 Jan 2025 18:56:43
Sorry but I can't judge Elliott off of pre-season. I've never seen him perform in a way that makes him an integral part of the team in competitive football so I just can't pick him over either Mac Allister or Szoboszlai. I'm not saying get rid but he still has to prove himself at Liverpool's level for me. Let's see how he does in the next few months where he hopefully gets a few more opportunities.

14 Jan 2025 18:59:08
To be fair Tris, don’t think LFC8 is trying to be ignorant or anything. Elliot is probably not in most fans midfield best 11 and certainly not Slots. He doesn’t make the international team for his country and his injury’s, although are not his fault, have been frequent compared to Mac’s. MacAllister Is a World Cup winner and walks in to most teams in the world.
As much as I love Elliot, he still has it all to prove. Hopefully he can stay injury free for a prolonged period and become the player that we all hope he can be.
If you ask a 1000 football fans over the globe (not necessarily Liverpool fans) to pick one…the vast majority would pick MacAllister.
Hopefully in a year or two people have a harder decision to make, but right now…it’s Mac all day!

14 Jan 2025 19:09:03
I think maccas crap but hey ho what do I know. he's p*ss poor in almost everything he does, except for rolling round just get up. The fact that he would be out of here in the drop of a hat if Spain came calling as got to be a red flag too.

14 Jan 2025 19:13:55
So many times this season I think Macca has done his cruciate.

2 seconds later he is up again and I breathe a sigh of relief.

He is without doubt one of the best actors in the league.

Good player though and ahead of Elliot right now for me however Elliott has crazy potential if he can ditch the injuries. I wouldn't be in a rush to sell him.

So, my answer is to keep both.

14 Jan 2025 19:17:45
Say what you think, scouse john! I like Elliott, but my issue with him is, I don't know what his best position is and, a tad more important, I don't think Slot does either. Mac Allister is far from being my favourite all time player, and he boils my p*ss with his play acting, but Bazza's question was a choice of 2, so, Macca, all day.

14 Jan 2025 19:24:20
Hello Six gold stars, to be fair Tris? who please is Tris, he is not one of the posters in this thread, is Tris short for Tristan in any way, then i think i know who you are alluding to.

How can anyone compare a current World Cup Medal Winner, to a regular squad player.

If both last the two games (utd home, spurs away cup) were both premier league games we would have 1 point from 6, that is abysmal three points and nothing else tonight, this is a full strength team, i have money on a 1-4 score for arnefield.

14 Jan 2025 19:27:17
Gary mcallister! Of course.

14 Jan 2025 19:33:45
Elliot for me.

The love for maccalister is due to -

Low price tag
argentina intl and won wc
few goals taken hopefully but look like worldie

mostly 3rd option

Elliot has more game intelligene and potential than macca.

if it will be realized here or not is a?

14 Jan 2025 20:02:26
Simple. Keep both and sell Jones. Rubbish player.
Mac won't stick around for more than another 3 years. Harvey will be here for years.

14 Jan 2025 20:19:15
For current ability Macca, but only if he cuts out the diving, if he doesn’t he can join international champions of diving Real Madrid, I’m only discounting arsenal because they never win anything.

14 Jan 2025 21:01:52
Still don't get what Macca adds to this team. Not enough going forward and does nothing defensively. That world cup has given people tinted specs because nobody can explain what he does. Elliot should be playing today against low block team but for some reason he can't catch a break.

14 Jan 2025 21:27:52
100% Mac Alister. If he cuts out the theatrics, he’s a great midfielder that can find a pass and unlock a defence.

I also wouldn’t sell Jota in a month of Sundays!

If he’s a priority sell for us right now (a guy that sniffs out goals) then I just don’t know anymore.

Easy to say when he’s just scored but anyone that’s seen my posts will know I have always been a massive jota fan and defended him.

14 Jan 2025 22:01:37
I’d keep Mac. As others have said Slot doesn’t rate Elliott, or he’s not fully fit, either way he’s not getting a game and can’t see how he fits in.

14 Jan 2025 22:21:40
I love Mac. Really reminds me of Ronnie Whelan - a wizard. Yes, he has S American approach of gamesmanship but he just thinks on his feet, and can change the tempo as required.
He’s usually puce in the face with effort, and not as slow as some think. Late on, he chased down I think the quickest winger in the league.
If he cuts out the cry baby act (and dare I say it, cheating in the Argentinian game is not seen as a negative: eg Maradona’s Hand of God and performance enhancing drugs still bizarrely seen as in the spirit of the game) then he can be a great.

14 Jan 2025 22:17:17
Macca. Needs to knock off the cheating tho. No time for it.

14 Jan 2025 22:18:38
Mac for me definitely. Great player imo.

14 Jan 2025 23:02:57
It’s an interesting question @OP. It has two parts to it though, in my mind. Who is the better player and who is the best fit for the way the manager wants his team to play. The answer two the two questions isn’t necessarily the same. In terms of the things that Slot wants I’d go with Macca.

14 Jan 2025 23:14:54
Szobo is the one I’d be getting rid off, loses the ball way too much. He gives me Gareth bale vibes, country before club.

14 Jan 2025 23:21:56
Macca has had a poor season by his standards but I still think he's the better footballer. The rolling around whinging does have to stop it's pathetic for a professional athlete to get on like that.

14 Jan 2025 23:38:54
Think tonight’s performance should answer this question.

15 Jan 2025 00:03:21
007 - Ed001's name is Tris.

15 Jan 2025 02:01:33
007 embarrassing himself again ?.

15 Jan 2025 11:54:20
I am not sure i would keep both long term, they are both weak in the tackle and are also quite slow, they do have good and bad games, i don't think you would ever play them in the same team. Elliot though will run for the shirt.

{Ed001's Note - which is why I would keep Elliott. At least he cares about the club and would give his all for the club. He doesn't come out giving interviews about how his dream is to play for Madrid, instead he told them where to go when the chance came about to join them and chose us.}

15 Jan 2025 15:15:30
yep fair play Ed.
