I don't like to moan all that much, but this is scratching at my brain a bit.

How has I've not heard anything about how this season is the worse defence of the title ever seen? 20/ 21 we didn't hear the END of it, and we finished 3rd in the end which isn't that bad. They're good today, but City have been pathetic so far this season and aren't even front runners for top 4, yet. silence.!

TheAceVentura, that's cos we are Liverpool and we zre the centre of attention, sell clicks and views and get enormous traction esp. online hence, these witchunts that you see.

City? Mate, they won a treble and majority of the public just shrugged. They won a title on the last day of last season yet 75% of the viewing public watched Klopp's farewell at Anfield. Pls, nobody cares about City hence, no clicks, not traction and no views. It is what it is. Just my opinion.

I don't remember much about our title defence being so maligned but we did lose five centre halves at one point so it wouldn't have bothered me anyway.
Leicester finished midtable, didn't they? I don't suppose you could be too critical of them though.
I still think City will get top four though. De Bruyne might break down again and that won't help but I fancy them.

19 Jan 2025 18:47:20
Probably because they're still a huge amount of points left to play for and City are 'only' 12 points behind. Let's save judgement for any team until May.

19 Jan 2025 19:07:26
Their 4th and could put a good run together which they've done most seasons since Pep took over, maybe don't count our chickens just yet, there's a long way to go.

19 Jan 2025 19:07:51
They'll definitely get top 4, probably third, although they could still catch arsenal.

The fact that they've won the last 4 puts credit in the bank for them with the media. "It's not a poor defence of the title, it must be injuries and difficult to motivate themselves after being on top for so long". Plus, we all know that it'll be a couple of hundred million between this and the summer window and all will be back to normal again.

19 Jan 2025 19:15:38
Silence because they won 4 on the trot with cl and numerous smaller cups thrown in. They are literally a juggernaut that will be back before you know it so what’s the point of saying how bad they’ve been Stevie wonder can see that.

19 Jan 2025 19:16:00
Because city are definitely finishing inside the top 4.

19 Jan 2025 19:20:37
You must have had your head in the sand a month or two ago then.

19 Jan 2025 19:24:08
I’ve heard quite a bit about Man City’s implosion. Dunno what rock you’ve been under?

19 Jan 2025 19:41:28
But they still might go on one of their runs ??.

19 Jan 2025 19:50:12
Chelsea had a worse defense I think.

19 Jan 2025 20:31:15
Oli you sure you’re not a closet City fan?

You talk about them just as much as you do Liverpool.

19 Jan 2025 22:21:35
Supporting Liverpool is like buying a new car. All shiny and great but then you start noticing everyone has one but before you owned it you weren't looking at what everyone else had.

I think that makes sense, if you support/ own something you see every bit of news about it.

If you supported City then you would probably get more ads and internet traffic about them and feel hard done by as you do about Liverpool.

I don't drink but I am getting a bit older now so I'd this doesn't ring true scroll on by. ??.

19 Jan 2025 23:31:05
Sorry, JK but you must be mistaking me for your good ol' boy Harry, the TRUE City fan (nothing closet about him) who can't stop talking about their players, past or present like anyone gives a crap.

What I posted was facts. They won the title last season and yet 75% of the viewing public watched Klopp's farewell party rather than their trophy presentation. No one cares about City. Read it and weep.

20 Jan 2025 00:46:53
I definitely remember the narrative of "worst title defense" in 2020/ 21. Haven't heard it all this time around for City, but wouldn't worry about it.

I mean, if you win the league 4 times in a row I think that affords you certain amount of grace when you have a slip up hahaha.

20 Jan 2025 07:28:53
They can go on as many runs as they want, go on as many marathons as they like, but it's not happening. The killer instinct is gone, the hunger to win it again and again is gone, and it's time for Pep to look for a new challenge.

20 Jan 2025 07:42:01
I'm not sure your 75% figure is fact without giving more details, Oli.
I'm not sure about the worst title defence either. This season hasn't even finished yet and Leicester finished midtable.

20 Jan 2025 07:55:50
Oli my bad. It’s just with you telling everyone you don’t care about other teams and their players whilst talking about them constantly I was confused.

I can see why your allegiance would be split between Liverpool and City though. But You probably don’t watch City games twice on YouTube #facts.
