He's just stringing the fans along with comments like these. I'm losing patience with the three of them. It's all very well them trying to extort as much money out the club for their next contract but fans would do well to remember this is why your ticket prices are going up.

The problem is people constantly trying to guess what the sub-text is when a player is interviewed. What he said means nothing other than he hopes to keep his place in the team this season.
If he goes, he goes. If he stays, he stays. Either way the world will continue to spin. Don't get yourself worked up about something that may or may not happen. Live in the now and cheer him on if he plays against PSV and in every game that he runs out onto the pitch in a Liverpool shirt.

I think they are all more annoyed by being asked the questions than the actual negotiations.

Wouldn’t be in this mess if it had been dealt with in a competent manner. We’re now at the point where clubs outside of the premier league can offer them the contract they’re asking for and more. Can’t blame the players for the complete lack of competence by the club. Not like no one knew the contracts were ending. Good luck replacing them if they go, given the restricted budget.

How can you talk about incompetence when you don't know what is going in? Is it all about money?
The club could have offered van Dijk what he wants but it doesn't mean he would take it.
The club and the players don't seem too worried about it so I don't see why the fans are. Maybe because things are going well on the pitch and they need to catastrophise about something.

Spot on, dbav. Seems the players are tired of answering the same question over and over again. Also, could it be that a couple of these players have actually signed contracts already and they simply are quiet about it? Notice Salah ain't talking about contracts anymore. Trent doesn't say crap yet the ITK's speak for him.
If people want to keep losing their marbles over throw away comments like the one VVD made then, that's on them. I choose to watch the actual games we play and try to enjoy them as much as possible.

Wasn’t there someone here or what is it Robbie Fowler who said 2/ 3 are agreed and one is not one we’d expect?
I was thinking VVD might be the difficult one because I’d assume VVD would want to see out his time here so would want a contract length to reflect that.
Whereas Mo would conceivably be looking for a move to Saudi in a couple seasons time.
Anyways, hope they all stay!
