Lad's I'm dreading the Everton game. Look I know that Ed025 is say we are favourites but he said that last season and look what happened. So Ed025 please keep you opinions to yourself?.

Agree3 Disagree0

It's one of them games Barry that even if Everton had lost every game of the season so far it could be one of them results to upset our title challenge.

Same as playing utd and apparently forest nowadays. Everton will be well up for it, hopefully we can have enough on the day to get the three points.

Good points are, we do have the much better team, so much better we should be beating them and I don't see many teams beating us at the minute, the squad seem so focused on what they want so going on that, bring Everton on! But yeah I agree mate, it's a worrying fixture.

Everyone was dreading the Bournemouth game, look how that turned out.

Exactly, Salah. Everton are going to give us their best shot whether Dychce, Moyes or Pep was the manager. I really makes no difference. Like v B'mouth, our guys knew what they were going to get from them and boy, did we get B'mouth's best shot. I am not worried of what I expect and really, what I know is going to happen.

If we want to win this title then, we have to be prepared as fans, players, coaches etc. to fight for it in every game we play. That is the reality. Nobody is going to give us anything. We are going to have to earn every goal and every point to win it. That's the way I see it so if our players are as focused as they were vs B'mouth and have been lately, let's go do it.

I had the misfortune of being at the game last season, and it was the most inept passionless performance of many a season. We were on a downward spiral at the time and they put the final nail in our coffin of any chance of winning PL. I'm with Barry, I'm dreading it. I keep looking at our coming fixtures and Arsenal's and theirs look far more favourable. If we have a 5 point lead come the end of this month I'll be delirious.

It's Evertons cup final. I hope we smash em.

03 Feb 2025 15:10:07
*I meant to say 9 point lead.

03 Feb 2025 15:15:51
Very true EN especially me.

03 Feb 2025 16:35:54
We got a bit lucky in all fairness EN they missed an open goal and Mac should have been sent off. Everton have picked up and it will be a very though game. They bullied us last year, but we are definitely stronger than we were last season. Close game I imagine.

We are favourites for the Everton game; there's no doubt about it.
A draw wouldn't be a disaster, for me, but we shouldn't take that into the next game.
We've had a few intense games recently and handled them well- Forest with two rs, Brentford and Bournemouth. You can even add the Spurs cup game where we lost but it was a game we could have won.
Play our game and not the occasion. We're top of the League and we should expect teams to get stuck into us, defend deep, hostile atmospheres etc.
Arsenal have a few London teams to play, too.

David Moyes record vs Liverpool :

P 42, W 6, D 10, L 26, GF 35, GA 72 (Transfermarkt)

If we play as well as we know we can and execute the game plan we will win.

There is always the ‘X’ factor in Derby matches although the move from game to business has eroded some of the passion in the game and, sadly, the fans mutual respect for each other. It’ll still mean something to Scousers but it’s moving towards being ‘just another game’ particularly in terms of what happens on the pitch.

Moyes has a record as Everton boss during merseyside league derbies 2002-12 of 3 wins and 7 losses.

We have to play them twice this season, next Wednesday half seven kick off at Goodison Park (TNT) for the last time ever, so EFC will not want that on the records, would be sweet if our last ever goodison league visit was a resounding win.

The return derby fixture at Arne-field is Wednesday 20:00 hrs Kick Off, 02 April 2025, the last time we had an april fixture at goodison we lost 2-0 that was Jurgens last derby match.

David Moyes has never won at Anfield with any premier league club/ club and long may that continue.

It's a derby and anything can happen. Hopefully Everton go into game with some confidence and try to play because then I think it will be easier for us than if they sit there in a deep block.
