Well if we run out of gas this season again we only have one person to blame Mr Hughes. let's do this. there's a league title to be won. And a "big summer" ahead.
04 Feb 2025 09:03:59
Tbf fixtures are falling nicely which is only positive. League cup followed by FA cup where we can rest players. Also not in champs league knockout round. I think if we get through Feb/ March with international break and are still 9 clear we win the league.
Hard to improve our 1-1 but a LB/ CB is a concern and I would have like a combative athletic number 6 for games like Everton away.
04 Feb 2025 09:24:16
The greatest director of all time? Nonsense, it was his idea to be top of the league
If anyone is to blame its Naby Keita.
04 Feb 2025 09:29:08
One game at a time lads. Cliche I know but there is still a way to go
Up the pool.
04 Feb 2025 09:42:29
I also think our play style suits us for the long game. Under klopp we went hell for leather and frequently as the season went on we looked out on our feet after first half hour.
04 Feb 2025 09:46:28
I'm a little bit confused who do you want to buy and replace in the team? apart from LB I just don't see it. we have 1 player out injured at the moment. a fully fit team is
Ali, Trent, Ibou, VVD, Robbo
Mac, Grav, Dom
Salah, Diaz, Gakpo
you can have 9 players on the bench - Kweev, Joe, Bradley, Tsimikas, Endo, Jones, Elliot, Nunez, Jota - this bench is stacked with talent
not included in the above - Jaros, Qaunsah, Chiesa, Morton, Danns
January just doesn't make sense to remove anyone from the team at the moment since they are doing so well sure in the summer have a look at LCB/ LB or another CM but mid season makes no sense
top of the league, top of the champions league, we can easily beat spurs this week and go through to the next round of the FA CUP.

Totally agree jimble the incompetence of hughes may cost us. Two windows in and he's stealing a living.
04 Feb 2025 10:23:08
We're only 6 points clear brummy mate. We've already won the derby in your mind? ? Its going to be a tough game but because of last season i Think the Boys will make it right this season.
04 Feb 2025 10:29:45
imblelfc2005 - Lets blame him for the two, nearly / Quad seasons as well whilst were at it Hey Jim. Its good to have someone to blame.
Slot said that his most common topic during conversations with Jurgen has been about why we fell away during those two seasons.
My feeling is that it was partly due to the high energy football demanding so much from the players, partly down to Klopps waning energy levels, and partly due to not having the psychological fortitude to bounce back from losses.
If we don't win the league this season, it will be down to the players and manager- we have enough of a squad to compete, as we've shown, but we do have enough of the winners mentality?

Just my thoughts, while it would be nice for us to have made signings this window, the transfers that did happen were underwhelming. There's not a single transfer, other than Kvaradona, where I felt that we missed out on a player. And even then, for Kvaradona, the fees involved were huge and he only wanted PSG anyway. I don't think there was a player who was available that would have improved us.
And it isn't a guarantee that transfers would improve a team either. Take City for example. They were splashing cash left, right, and centre. And the result: getting spanked 5-1 by Arsenal last night.
04 Feb 2025 12:37:04
I don't buy into the Kvara hype at all, if you gave me a choice between him and Barcola I'm taking Barcola every day of the week.
04 Feb 2025 12:46:21
Hughes anwould have known since the summer where we needed cover so had plenty of time to get something done but instead he just sat back and robbed his fat wage packet.
04 Feb 2025 13:16:54
Maybe hughes is following the instructions of his boss/ bosses?
04 Feb 2025 13:28:07
What players is Slot planning on resting in the second half of the season and what impact would it have on results?
What do you mean, 'you don't know'? ?.
04 Feb 2025 15:32:49
What was the point of hiring him then. Is he the fall guy for fsg?
04 Feb 2025 15:50:08
And I assume that if we win the league then you’ll come on here and say that the manager and directors of Liverpool were right not to sign anyone or will you just move on to your next embarrassing negative nonsense…what a sad little life you must lead.
04 Feb 2025 16:48:26
I think we should blame the fans for being entitled whingers. But hey, what do I know?!
04 Feb 2025 17:45:56
I wonder how many of you would be brave enough to be resting VvD, Gravenberch and Salah in the second half of the season. Better still, who would you have signed so that you could rest them? ?.
04 Feb 2025 18:45:28
Szobo’s spot is certainly open for debate. Works hard but doesn’t score enough nor assist enough for me, particularly in that advanced position. F.
04 Feb 2025 19:26:36
Where do we need cover Harry? We’ve had injuries in every position this season and covered it perfectly well. People go about Grav but Macca played in that position for most of last season until he got injured and we were top then too.
Stop looking for problems that aren’t there just because you want an excuse to criticise Hughes.
I’m not defending Hughes I know very little about what he’s doing or being asked to do but to say he’s stealing a wage when we are smashing everything is just a bit silly.
We are the best team in Europe despite apparently needing loads of players. I’m sure any team in the world would love to swap places with us right now.
04 Feb 2025 19:36:29
3 Concerns for me would be 1)goals drying up / over reliance on Salah. Nunez and Jota will hopefully sort that out as I don’t think Diaz looks like scoring when playing as a number 9 but Slot seems to like that formation. 2) Too many dangerous crosses coming into the box especially from our right but also left. Hopefully Trent has more games when he’s fully switched on / gets more support from Grav / Konate when needed / Bradley steps up. Robbo looks a bit better lately. 3) Midfielders start tiring / can’t cope with intensity. This is probably my main concern as Slot won’t play Endo so we need to hope they can keep going to the end of the season / hopefully most games there won’t need to be intensity as teams play low block and concern 1 becomes more the issue.
04 Feb 2025 19:50:43
You have already listed two positions that could be upgraded while saying it’s hard to improve.
04 Feb 2025 23:37:32
It is hard to improve in January, Virat.
How many managers have really improved their squads in January?
You could make an argument for Villa but we don't know yet and they have lost two of their front men.
Arteta is 'disappointed', as is Moyes. Amorim loses a forward and is playing Mainoo as a false nine. Chelsea lose a player. Spurs? Who knows what they have signed.
City spend a small fortune and no one is really worried about them.
It is harder to improve in January but every other team in the PL needs to improve more than we do.
