I remember ole Vik using "condescending" and "high horse" when people disagreed with his assertions that Gravenberch was absolutely crap and Salah was finished at this level.

I wonder how many over 21s we have in our PL squad.
The limit is 25 isn’t it? Same for every PL club.
So squad depth is limited for everyone, except for under 21 year olds.
I don’t think it’s squad depth per se that has cost us the title. It’s multifactorial. Take Salah for example - I am constantly amazed how he has kept his standards up year after year. Klopp made the team train incredibly hard and then go out and play intense football for 100 minutes. For Salah it would be about 50+ games a season. Then he’d go and play international football.
Less intense training, smarter game management, better squad rotation is the way forward.

Just looked it up - we submitted a 22 man squad, so there are 3 places we could have filled.
However, that ignores Elliott, Bradley and Quansah who are all designated (U21).
So we definitely do have a slightly depleted first team squad for the premier league.

Not sure adding a player or two would upset a 'winning chemistry '. I'd think they could make it more secure n bolster it . but we haven't signed anyone n think most of us knew we wouldn't. so we just have to get on with it n hope it all works out.

I would dearly love for grav to get pl player of the season even though he’s up against mo and virg if we do end up winning the pl. this is a player that everybody wrote off and called a wash when he left Bayern, would be an incredible story for him to change his fortunes in the space of two years.

Victor can you please give me another example of when we’ve been top and ‘done a disappearing trick’ apart from last year?
Last year was due to injuries which caused inconsistencies in team selection towards the end of the season. We had to play a load of academy kids in a Carabao cup final we had so many injuries and we struggled integrating the first team players back into the team when they came back half cooked.
I can’t however, think of another season when that’s happened. Can you please enlighten me because you seem to think we ‘normally do’. I think you’ve been watching a different team mate.

Scouse John are we short? Really?
Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Forest, Utd, Spurs would all kill to have the squad depth we have. They are all short.
With PSR rules as they are the days of having 2 first choice 11s are gone and we are as close to having that as anyone in the league.
