Have to say fair play to Newcastle, were top class against Arsenal over 2 legs and deservedly booked their spot in the final… Let’s hope it’s against us! Loved seeing them bully Artetas Arsenal all over the pitch who are fast becoming my loathe team with their throwing themselves on the ground every 5 mins, niggly fouls breaking up play and just overall whinger attitudes!

If we do get to the final you’ll see exactly that from Newcastle players too. They’re probably worse than Arsenal in that respect tbh.

That isak is an animal. What a striker.

Newcastle were excellent over the two legs.
Arsenal lose Martinelli to what looks like a hamstring injury, too. That'll be a few weeks, at best.
I'm hoping that we can avoid any big injuries in the next few months. We've done ok with them so far while City and Arsenal haven't.
I'd let Newcastle have the League Cup if they give us three points at their place and we stay injury free for the rest of the season ?.

Liverpoolfc8, as Ed002 isn’t here to say it, “Isak will not be joining Liverpool”.
06 Feb 2025 05:12:36
We would score some 7000 goals with him and Salah upfront, Isak what a player! If FSG wants to make a statement then go and get him!
06 Feb 2025 06:42:29
Gordon and Isak to end up at the reds?
06 Feb 2025 07:02:04
The grass is always greener, eh Harry?
06 Feb 2025 07:17:10
@VV, we don't need Isak when we have Nunez.
06 Feb 2025 07:57:49
I never know when you're being sarcastic, Lee. I assume you are on this occasion.
06 Feb 2025 09:00:17
You think Isak won’t improve the team @Zed? The lad is just brilliant, excellent first touch (one of the best I have seen) technique (can hit form any sort of angle) . Composure (Top class infront of the goal)

Don’t hide away this time Harry.
You were flicking your nipples at the prospect of Darwin Nunez a year or so before we bought him, were you not?
06 Feb 2025 11:49:23
Shaq Attack, you are a very brave soul expecting Harry to be consistent with anything he says. You will have better luck trying to nail a piece of jelo to the wall.
As for Newcastle, I hope they win it should we not make it to the final. They have very great passionate fans and the atmosphere they generate at home and away from home, is amazing at times.
Arsenal simply can't deal with them cos they have diff. ways of playing and that gives Arteta who likes to control games, absolute fits. Also, they are just as good if not better than Arsenal when it comes to the "dark arts" and s-housery. Worst, Arsenal aren't out of the woods yet cos they play them at the Emirates in the league in a few weeks. And so do we at Anfield, btw.

Newcastle were brilliant over both legs. They have Gooner's number. Fair play.
Ooof, Isak is a pretty good player isn't he?
06 Feb 2025 13:29:39
Very very good player! Will probably cost North of 125 million £ to anyone interested.
06 Feb 2025 14:17:03
KurtStiener69, that's the going rate these days, I'm afraid.

No, if we had Isak Salah would score half the goals he does now.
How many teams in history have you seen with 2 25+ goal strikers? It hardly ever happens and even when it does it’s a freak season and doesn’t happen consistently.
Some of you have to accept that Salah is our main goalscorer and signing a ruthless number 9 will only reduce Salah’s goals. We are not suddenly going to score 120 goals a season. It’s not FIFA.
06 Feb 2025 18:26:30
Some don’t understand that if we had Isak it would just mean Salah would score less goals.
We wouldn’t suddenly score 4 or 5 every game and 120 goals in a season football doesn’t work that way.
Salah is our main goalscorer, how many teams in history have had 2 that consistently score 25+ goals a season? Not many, if any at all. If we signed Isak and he scored 25 then it would just mean Salah would get 10-15 like a normal winger. It’s not FIFA.
